There is no way the President should even consider going into SoCal right now. First of all -- where would he land? Major airports are all clouded in smoke and flights cancelled.
What is with some folks?

Bush has promised support. What I'm curious about is why Arizona and Nevada wasn't asked to help us out yesterday. Davis talked (I think it was)this morning about asking AZ and NV for help...what would be the reason to wait so long?

Good grief, the last thing those people need in SoCal is a presidential visit. We just spoke to our former coworkers down there, one had his house burned to the ground and the other barely escaped destruction, both in subdivisions that nobody thought would ever burn. Do people think they want to take a break for a Presidential photo op?
When will people understand that our President doesn't act based on polls or potential votes, but rather according to the situation and what's right?
Gray Davis may be an incompetent boob, but he's the sitting governor. It's his responsibility to be there right now, not the President's. The feds can send money and assistance, but that's it.
