Now that was not nice -- here I am in flyover country with nothing to compare! That looks really good -- makes me really hungry!

My old unit is now bopping around in these. Dirt bike and Souped up buggy called a RATT. What make/model dirt bike, do you know? Though I've always favoured larger highway bikes, the desert patrol outriders of the SAS and Royal Signals couriers during their *Operation Telic* activities in Iraq seemed ideal for that theatre.
It's difficult to get one machine to be an all-purpose offroader for all seasons and all terrain. But a bike can come closer than most.

Otay is the one fire that is sort of contained. The Cedar fire is the one I (and most of the Metro area) are worried about.

How is it now? We live close. In my end of the Valley it is getting cooler. White ash is on my truck. Are you still smelling smoke?

I have KFI, 640 am out of LA, running on my computer. I listened to it all during the Recall election and where I listen to Rush at the regular time. He is delayed here in Norman so I can listen to him live on 640, KFI.
KFI has been on Fire Watch all day and give updates every 15 minutes. Great source for fire info in the LA area.

Once again, hope all is OK for you (and everyone else).
Will be really sad if the UofR campus is threatened. Hope the situation improves in coming hours.

Washington State is sending 5 air tankers
Oregon is sending 2 of the big helicopters that will hold 45 fire fighters. Plus man power
45 sounds like a lot of men in one helicopter, but that is what they said
