This is certainly a great catastrophe for all those Californians already suffering monumental loss and those under imminent threat. My heart goes out to them.

A
third fire has was reported at Marron Valley, near the border with Mexico. A CDF fire spokeswoman reported that as much as 500 acres were burning there.
A fourth fire was reported in the northeast corner of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar at 7:45 a.m., east of Interstate 15 and north of Highway 52.

Could possibly be shorthand for Route 8 (east west highway) and Miramar Marine Air Station (although those are a ways apart) ?

I'm safe here in Pacific Beach, except for the oxygen situation.Travis, it's been a few years since I've been down to your area and I'd lke to ask you if Beryl St. is in Pacific Beach or is it in La Jolla?
To: All
Anybody know of a map that shows visually where these fires are? I'm not in the area, but I did hike a few hundred miles of the southern California portion of the Pacific Crest Trail earlier this year, and am curious if any areas I hiked through are near these fires.

It's I-15 at Miramar that's shut down. down San Diego way.
KNX reports that in or outbound Vegas traffic has to either go all the way out to Palm Springs area or up the 14 freeway to the high desert and across.
Evacuation list was just read on KNX. Claremont is struggling to save structures. Flames have now entered Emerald Canyon, wherever that is. At least two of the San Diego fires are running nearly unchecked.
Power has been cut to a sizeable portion of San Diego county

Beryl Street is the northern edge of Pacific Beach, (or "Baja La Jolla" as we sometimes joke.)
I am sitting 200 feet from Beryl, near Soledad Canyon road.

Ramadan starts today. That's kind of interesting. If they would attack the WTC and kill thousands and destroy billions of dollars of property, I can certainly see them doing something like this.

Thanks, Travis. A friend of mine lives in the 1300 block of Beryl (Baja La Jolla, lol) and I couldn't reach him by phone.
I'm in L.A. but I still get KOGO in loud and clear. I'm getting my news from you and them.
