The danger with many of those areas is that there is only one 2 lane road between the 5 and 15 generally speaking for any egress. Fire protection exists, but it assumes there are firemen and trucks available to respond to use the fire mains. Most of those roadways have overhanging vegetation and Eucalyptus trees. Not a good area to get trapped alongside.
On a positive note, most structures have been built to code in the last 15 years and are probably better equipped if there is a chance of survivability.

...Ted Williams Parkway running from Torrey Pines Easterly to around Scripps Poway Parkway. Ted Wms Pkwy! That's it. The one that ended at Blk Mtn (when I last drove on it about two years ago). Now I can rest! hehehe! <><

People are just tired of hearing about California.

Toidylop..might be a good idea to evacuate NOW! I have contacts on this fire and it's not going well unless and until they can get some air drops. After dark now may spell doom since the tankers may not function up to par. Be safe and hi tail it.

We were just ordered by county Sheriff to evacuate. I'll let my wife and dad leave. However, I'm hanging in for the time being.

Based on those two teenagers dying in their car trying to escape, that probably isn't a good idea. You should leave.

wind is backing off, however the fire creates backdrafts and unexpected fire storms and havoc.

Posessions can be replaced but your life is another issue. Please go.

What do you suppose is their point in endlessly discussing the Iraqi hotel bombing??? I have absolutely NO idea, not at all. And the more disgusting part is, even when they reported fire info, it was HOURS old news. (I know this because I'm staying current on FR).
Hope your friends' homes stay safe.

What is your exact location? Please keep us up to date until you decide to leave.

I believe no tankers will be dropping anything all night....I also advise evacuating.

I would assume that the businesses wouldn't expect employees to be showing up.....let's hope they remember their humanity. How can anybody function properly when they either lost everything or are afraid they will? This is awful.
