Compare
this map to the other. Mill Valley Road is the red star.

I haven't lived in So. Calif. for 10 years or so, but lived there for the previous 25....I don't remember anything this bad, ever, while I lived there....not so many so close. What I remember is usually a few fires, not a dozen huges ones.

The darkest dark I've ever experienced was when the lights went out while I was hiking in and through Carlsbad Caverns. Minus the lighting...this might compare.

There's over an hour til sunset. I looked at a clock that hadn't been reset! With thick, thick air, I can't guesstimate the time by looking outside!
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great tip - thank you!

Sorry, Cyber, don't know that.....must not be in LA County or Orange County (which is where I used to live)---I'm guessing near Escondido/Oceanside area, rather than north of LA near Simi Valley area fires, but don't know that for sure.

Thanks for your post of comparison info....

Can someone tell us exactly how many fires are there?
How many fires started today?
This is a disaster...I can not believe the lack of news coverage on this story.

Crown Hills appears to be a real estate development in Alpine. I hope that helps.

Probably asked and answered already, but....Where is your bro located?
I just talked to all my people in SD. Valley Center: Neighbor's house burned to the ground. Alpine: They're not sure, but believe their house is burned. Clairmont, Black Mountain, and SDSU area: Fires close, but not evacuating.
God be with y'all; our prayers are with you.

Where is it? Black Mountain is right outside our back yard and it doesn't seem on fore.
I HOPE you are wrong!!!
