So far we seem to be in a safe area. I'm at 805 and Murray Ridge. Where are you and your husband ..?? My mom and I have made plans and notified family what we're going to do - so we're just basically waiting! I've gathered together a few necessary things .. just in case.

Not sure, they are at the top of a hill, real nice neighborhood. Another brother is at the base of a canyon in Poway.

Don't want to alarm you, but they may have been ordered to evacuate. The area is in the fire's path on all sides.

Sorry to say it but I recently heard the Fairbanks Ranch/Rancho Santa Fe area is possibly in danger. Evacuations possible. If your family isn't answering the phone perhaps they've already left.

My brother is a fire captain in Rancho Sante Fe. Currently, no fires nearby. He is working a wildfire east of Escondido today (his 5th straight day on So. Cal fires). Says he's seen numerous horses burn to death since 10PM last night, however, he said the worst fire is at Scripps Ranch.

We're over the hill in the desert. I just heard they may be cutting power to Idylwild which is just above us. Don't know why though.

Sorry, I can't find news on Temecula since it's in Riverside County even though it's a mere 50 miles noth of here.

I heard on the scanner that they had a fire reported in Idylwild. Can't confirm it, though.

I heard the Sherif (Kolander) state in his news conference that Fairbanks Ranch has a 20% chance of being evacuated if the winds change directions.

Hwy 8 Lake Jennings trailer park and houses across street ordered to evacuate.

Claremont Mesa blvd West of 805 burning. Alongside highway, firefighters have under control along sound wall to keep it from subdivision. This is per call from home owner in area.

My nephew IM'd my brother, houses near theirs have burned down, they still aren't sure about theirs. I have 3 nephews that live in the house there with my brother and sister in law. It doesn't look good, I'll have to get off the net for a while and see if we get another message.

Bad stuff, his house is beautiful, and the lot is huge, but I'd rather have my family than some structure...

[ Valley Center was a scene of chaos as the Paradise Fire spread under a leaden sky. Some residents were forced to flee only minutes after receiving fire warnings from sheriff's deputies.
Goats, pigs and dogs roamed loose as some rural residents lead horses away.

Three people were found dead in the wake of the fire.

Two teenagers were found dead in their burned-out car off Station Road after it apparently went off the road as they were trying to flee.

Another woman was found in the ruins of her home on Yellow Brick Road. ]
