CBS's Fantasy: Mrs. Reagan Slaps Patti
NewsMax ^ | 10/24/03 | Limbacher

Part of the sleazy script of CBS's "The Reagans" seen by Matt Drudge shows a scene at the Reagans' house in Pacific Palisades after Ronald Reagan won the presidency.

According to the script, as revealed by Drudge Report today, Nancy Reagan is upstairs in daughter Patti's bedroom while Ronald Reagan is downstairs getting ready to do TV interviews.

Nancy is depicted arguing with 5-year-old Patti, who won't come downstairs.

NANCY: Come on, Patti. They're all set to go.

PATTI: No. I won't. I want to stay up here and play.

Nancy grits her teeth and takes Patti by the wrist.

NANCY: No arguing. We're going down, right now.

PATTI: No! No! No! No! NO! NO!

The script says that Nancy then "reaches out and slaps Patti. Patti reels, holding her cheek. Nancy freezes."

NewsMax.com throws up.

This isn’t the first time a CBS Producer attacked a Republican President, remember the Hitler mini-series in April 2003?

From FR:

CBS Producer Sees Bush as Another Hitler

If you thought the rabid anti-Americanism displayed by such bottom-sucking slugs as Michael Moore was as low as Hollywood can sink, think again. The producer of the CBS miniseries "Hitler: The Rise of Evil" says it is a warning to the American people that if they don't watch out the Bush administration could morph into a carbon copy of Hitler's National Socialist dictatorship.

According to the New York Post, something called Ed Gernon, the CBS producer of the Hitler miniseries starring Robert Carlyle, Peter O'Toole and Julianna Margulies, says he sees the program as a warning for Americans about the Bush administration. And this craven fool says that that he, Margulies and director Christian Duguay all think it's a good idea for Americans to keep Hitler's Nazi regime in mind while looking at the Bush White House.

A fearful American public's cooperation with Bush's policies, Gernon tells TV Guide, is "absolutely" similar to post-World War I Germany's acceptance of Hitler's extremism. "I can't think of a better time to examine this history than now," he said.

Yeah, those clips were HILARIOUS. They were so stupid that they sounded like a parody. However, the leftists hate Reagan so much that they might actually have produced what we heard on the clips believing they are serious stuff.

From what I remember "The Day Reagan Was Shot" was not much better, either.

We can agree to disagree. The outcry over the Reagan movie began with a rumor that in the film, Reagan says something like "He who lives in sin shall die in sin" about people with AIDS. At that time, just earlier this week I think, that was all the information that was available about the movie. This latest information doesn't even make sense, based on the age of the Patti Davis.

The outcry over the Mel Gibson movie began when rumors started circulating that the movie treated the role of the Jews in the crucification unfairly. Some people criticized those who were judging the movie before they saw it. Now, after clips and scripts have been seen, most people seem to take no offense to the movie.

If the movie is so bad they are off by more than a decade on Patti Davis' age, why give it all this import? It's just a stupid television movie that until now, probably wouldn't even have that large an audience. Why would liberals watch a movie about Reagan, so they won't be swayed, and conservatives already know the truth, so they won't be swayed.

Hannity was outraged and who cares what Colmes did. Sorry, I don't pay much attention to Colmes. About all I remember of Colmes on last night's show is him pushing his book. I've looked for a transcript of the show but can only find a partial which does not include the Drudge segment. If I find the Drudge transcript, I'll post it.

Well, the rumor over the AIDs line was in one of the clips that Drudge played today, as well. The age bit is confusing but I don't know if it's Drudge that's screwing up the age or Newsmax. Newsmax has a habit of melding stories and it appears they could be doing just that.

If someone is feeding Drudge false info than that is no better than what CBS is being accused of, here. But we also already have quotes from the NY Times were the producers are admitting they essentially engaged in dramatic license with some of these events. Regardless, this has now made national news and it's more than just the pundits involved, as we see Reagan officials and current politicians now involved. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I also listened to Drudge today pinch hitting for Rush and the clips I heard are so sick. But I expected nothing better from Mr. Streisand and his looney wife. God Bless President Reagan and keep him close always.

Thanks for the info. I've actually been sending my mom these stories about CBS' take on Reagan. She's a moderate who usually doesn't get into activism, but she told me she's already written CBS over this crap.

By the way, we're getting to that silly-season when Hollywood rolls out all their old favorite movies. I use to think I was paranoid, but after watching this closely now for 5-6 years, there's definitely a trend. Just as they did with the movie "The Contender," the democrats in Hollywood are rolling out movies just prior to general elections in order to sway public opinion. As even Gary Oldman pointed out, they completely changed the script of The Contender to be excessively anti-republican just before the 2000 election (October).

With the new CBS Reagan movie and Moore's Farenheit 9-1-1 scheduled for release later next year, Hollywood is ramping-up for another objective (Ha!) assault on Republicans. As I've said before....watch for several repeats of some old favorites (All the President's Men) with these new ones...including The Contender. Even movies like "The Pelican Brief" are gaining new life as this movie was also a swing at Republicans and their relationship with business and the dangers of a so-called conservative Judiciary. I can't count how many time I've seen ATPM or Nixon in the last months leading up to a General Election...But Hollywood knows exactly what they're doing as they attempt to subconsciously influence an unsuspecting public.
