Prayers going up for Terri

No amount of prayers or any medical intervention will help this poor person regain brain function. Although I don't agree with the feeding tube withdrawal, I do believe she should be mercifully allowed to die. She is never coming back, and it is shame upon her dignity that her parents are gasping for a miracle that will never occur. No person, to my knowledge, who has been diagnosed as being in a vegetative state, has ever regained consciousness. Death is not the enemy in this case.

It should be up to the Lord to take her. Not another human being.

She was not in a "vegetative state" from reports of the family. The doctor in collusion with MS and his lawyer said this. Vegetables don't usually smile.

Other persons in a state like Terri's have returned to some level of conscious communication. Nobody is expecting her to jump out of the bed, run a marathon and become a PhD scholar.

I suggest you do a google search on it. I have just read today about a woman who "woke-up" after 16 years in a PVS and I remember reading about the man who was comatose for 19 years and woke up and said "pepsi". It's happened.

Then your knowledge is limited in scope and your opinion should be treated as uninformed, no?

There are lots of folks who have recovered from this state....a rep from Not Dead Yet has been inFL to support the Schindlers..

There is big move in medical circles to kill those who are not "productive" check MarMema FR page

This is NOT the issue. Her parents WANT to take care of her until she passes NATURALLY AND PEACEFULLY.... not STARVED PAINFULLY TO DEATH by the order of her whore-monger of a husband.

She smiles laughs and moves. She moves her legs and tries to speak. That's NOT BRAIN DEAD.

The way things are looking it is important to keep her alive -- if only to ascertain the truth about her condition. We are seeing some WILDLY WEIRD behavior by the husband, aided and abetted by the attorney. Come to think of it -- is it possible for some law enforcement agency to begin a new investigation as a result of the allegations that this was foul play? Requiring all evidence to be preserved?

As unfortunate as Terri's condition is, it is not up to us to decide when a person should die. Who knows, perhaps trapped in that crippled body Terri is experiencing unimaginable bliss.

Mercifully allowed to die? Starvation as mercy? That's not being allowed to die, that's actively participating in the killing of another. She wasn't dying until they tried to kill her.

Death is not the enemy in this case.

Death is the final destination for all of us but it is the deliberate HASTENING of death that we frown upon in society. We aren't legally permitted to beat 90-year-olds to death even though they are closer to death than most of us.

We don't receive a lesser sentence for murdering an old codger by arguing, "Aw hell, the old coot was pert-near a goner anyway! He had lost control of his bowels, was damn near blind, had lost his mind and was always fondling the breasts of the nurses takin' care of him. He was breathin perfectly good air the rest of us could use to more productive purposes and the old fart had no place to spend the money I stole from him."

Either life is precious or it is not. This case is about preserving the sanctity of life especially when the human being is unable to care for herself.

In my opinion, it is one important way we can still separate ourselves from beasts, if we can still draw any distinction.

From the videos she is obviously not vegetative or comatose. You are buying the false media reports.

You could buy a clue. Brain-damaged is not the same as PVS or coma.

The definition of PVS is probably going to be revisited by the legislature at some point. Terri understands jokes, can follow simple instructions, recognizes people, has emotions. Not a vegetable. You are showing up late to the party. You could be a Felos fellow for all we know.
