Israeli media slams as ''Anti-Semitic'' Chirac refusal to join EU condemnation of Malaysian PM speech on Jews

Israeli commentators have firmly blasted French President Jacques Chirac's refusal to sign the condemnation proposal drafted by the European Union in Brussels, which brought about the cancellation of the draft proposal. This came after Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad's call last week for Islamic nations to unite against "a few million Jews," who control the world.

Chirac, backed by Greek Prime Minister Costas Simitis, stopped the European Union from ending a summit on Friday with a harshly worded statement deploring Mahathir's speech.

A leading Israeli commentator, for one, wrote an article in Ma'ariv daily Sunday entitled "The Collaborator", in which he accused French President Chirac of collaborating with other "anti-Semites" throughout the history of France.

In preventing the European Union from establishing a united condemnation against the Malaysian Prime Minister's "Anti-Semitic" speech, the French leader, according to writer Amnon Dankner, placed himself with others who have "stained" his country's history.

Chirac, according to Dankner, placed himself with Anti-Semites and their blood libels against such Jews as Alfred Dreifus. By acting in such a manner, Chirac placed himself also besides Right-Wing Frenchmen who fought an "extermination war" against their government in the period prior to World War II.

Chirac, according to the Israeli journalist, placed himself with the majority of French people, who cooperated with the Nazis who conquered their country and alongside the Vichy regime that carried out Anti-Semite propaganda.

According to Dankner, the fact that the President of one of the largest and most important European countries went out of his way to prevent a European condemnation of one of the most blunt "Anti-Semitic" statements made in public by a head of state in the post-World War II era, constitutes a stain on France and on the good soul that still beats inside her.

Dankner added that by Chirac's behavior, the "old Anti-Semitism" in France joined the "new hatred" towards Israel, covered up by Anti-Israel criticism, Anti-Zionism and Pro-Palestinian views.

On his part, the Malaysian Prime Minister has thanked Chirac for blocking the EU declaration condemning his comments, according to news reports Sunday.

Malaysian newspapers said Mahathir had expressed his gratitude to the French leader for his "understanding" of the speech he made at the 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference.

Chirac, according to the Israeli journalist, placed himself with the majority of French people

And that's the real story here.  France is no better than the Third Reich in their view of the Jews.  The
only difference is that the French prefer Jews be wiped out by the Arab world rather than do the job themselves.
