KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct 19, 2003 (AP WorldStream via COMTEX) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has thanked French President Jacques Chirac for blocking a European Union declaration condemning his comments last week that Jews "rule the world by proxy," news reports said Sunday.
Chirac, backed by Greek Prime Minister Costas Simitis, stopped the EU from ending a summit Friday with a harshly worded statement deploring Mahathir's speech, which also included suggestions that Jews get "others to fight and die for them."
A French diplomat, who asked not to be named, said while Chirac disagreed with Mahathir's strident views, he argued that an EU summit declaration "would not have been appropriate."
Malaysian newspapers said Mahathir had expressed his gratitude to Chirac for his "understanding" of the speech he made at the 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference, the world's largest Muslim grouping, in Malaysia last Thursday.
Mahathir said he had feared Muslims would be more angered by the speech, which was also critical of Muslims.
"I never thought the Europeans would be against me," the New Sunday Times quoted him as saying. "I can't understand them. I'm glad that Chirac at least understands. I would like to thank him publicly."
Mahathir said that "anybody who reads the whole speech through will understand what I said," the Sunday Star reported.
Mahathir's comments caused a storm of controversy, with the United States, Canada, Germany, Britain, Australia and Israel branding the remarks outrageous.

Chirac: "Oui, Jews were infesting France when our German masters started taking their filthy hides off our noble hands. Then the Allies just had to interfere! So now we have to sneak around and let our Muslim masters burn their synagogues while we smile and look elsewhere. We praise our Muslim masters for their rhetoric! We love it when they slaughter Jewish children, because you know, nits make lice!"

Does Hamid Karzai also "understand" these anti-Semitic rantings?
According to Washington Post, "Afghan President Hamid Karzai said he supported Mahathir's analysis, which also included steps for how Muslim nations can develop economically and socially.
'It is great to hear Prime Minister Mahathir speak so eloquently on the problems of the ummah (Muslim world) and ways to remedy them,' Karzai said. 'His speech was an eye-opener to a lot of us and that is what the Islamic world should do.' "
Wasn't Karzai supposed to be on our side?
Anti-Semites of a feather stick together.

Read the speech for yourself. Then you will understand why a committed Muslim like Hamid Karzai would say what he did.
Following is the full text of the Malaysian Prime Minister's recent speech:
http://www.yourish.com/archives/2003/mahathir.html Speech by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad at the opening of the 10th Session of the Islamic Summit
Conference on Oct 16, 2003
This speech is a suitable introduction to the following link to an interesting analysis of the prospects of Islam, especially given that it was written in 1936 when the main European focus of attention was on the rising tide of European and Asian totalitarian states founded on militantly secular or pagan religious principles, rather than on the seemingly improbable revival if Islam.
(Note: it's author, Hillaire Belloc and the Malaysian prime minister would probably agree on few things except, as a careful reading will show, on a belief in the pervasive influence of Jews. They also, for different reasons -- adherence to different world-conquering visions, in particular -- find that influence repugnant. Still, those of us who see the impact as mostly a positive factor in world history can learn from both of these pieces.)
Belloc usefully notes how heavily Islamic military, diplomatic, and economic pressure from the south and east influenced European history from the final fall of Byzantium in 1453 to the end of the 17th century, and how its recession in the following two centuries set the stage for Europe's self-destructive global wars in the 20th century, which have themselves set the stage for the "next acts" in coming decades. It then concludes with some speculations on the potential for Islam to resume its expanive development. Pretty good foresight for an analyst almost 70 years ago, in the midst of the runup to round two of the global war!

You can see the rise of anti-semitism throughout Europe. The E.U. is already trying to control their member's economies through replacing their currency, eliminating N.A.T.O., replacing member's judicial systems, directing member's economies, regulating budget deficits, etc. The E.U. could care less about what Islam believes and practices- they care about oil, and power. Israel has nothing they want;no oil, no potential revenues. It's predictable they would not condemn the hand that will feed them.
You can read more about the E.U.. Just read Daniel in the Bible.

I guess those seven million Moslems breeding out of control in France are coming home to roost.
France, you are doomed. Bye bye. Parisian fashions will be history and I can just see the Islamofascists tearing down the Versailles to build a mosque. Paintings and art will be burned by the truckload and civil law replaced with sharia.
And I can't tell you how much of this you brought on yourselves. They will not assimilate. You will. You probably have five years before this takeover gets underway.

Chirac est un chien, sans doute.
Karzai was not responding to Mahathir's remarks about Jews but about his remarks--criticsms, really--about Muslims. Mahathir was berating Muslim leaders for the folly of a futile war against Israel, for using violence, brawn instead of brains, for encouraging science and technology, for rejecting modernity.
Mahathir's views of Jews--Jews rule the world by proxy are of course fatuous. But they aren't vicious. They're really complimentary. Mahathir isn't copying the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. There's no nonsense of Jews poisoning wells or using Gentile blood to bake matzohs. I think he cleverly concealed fundamental criticism of jihadist Islam with an imaginative salute to Jews' success.

But they aren't vicious. Wrong. There are three viscious lies in his speech:
- The Jewish people are ruling the world. Adding "by proxy" is little variation on the Protocols of Zion, or Adolf Hitler's assertions of Jewish world domination in Mein Kampf.
- The Jews are getting others to fight and die for them. A variation on #1 but still worth distinguishing: it's little different from saying that Gentile blood goes into their daily meals.
- The Jews are against 1.3 billion Muslims. It's quite the other way around. Most Jewish people would be more than happy to live in quiet coexistence with Islam.
So why the lies, and why are they viscious? Because they divert attention from Islam's real problems, and focus on the Jewish scapegoat. That sort of scapegoating is as old as humanity, and it often ends in the blatant persecution of the scapegoat. Jews are a common target because they have held onto their culture where ever they've been in the world.
To call Mahathir's comments indirect praise is to ignore the real message in his comments: Islam should have an enemy, a symbolic enemy, and one that can easily be vanquished when the time is right.
Mahathir is a modern day Nazi, nothing less.

From the full text of Mahathir's speech, there is no doubt about his megalomaniacal ambitions for Islam. The real message seems to be:
"Guys, let's cool it with these pointless pin pricks against the infidels until we can get up to speed technologically, with a sufficient arsenal of massive firepower for our 'defence.' Until then, let's play nice."
This reminds me of when the mobs decided that the best way to preserve their criminal empires was by appearing to "go legit."
Karzai could have gained a lot more credibility by exposing this speech for the racist diatribe that it is.

Yes, I think you've got Mahathir's point just right - - - as well as the essential nature of Muslim society: an economy based on the exploitation and humiliation of the infidels, especially the dhimmis, i.e., the Jews and Christians (even though that hasn't worked very well for the last century or three).
And so Karzai's response make sense too, for one who is more concerned about his credibility with fellow-Muslims than with the ephemeral credibility with the credulous infidels who found it temporarily convenient to set him up as ruler in Afghanistan.
When their attention turns to "the next big thing" he won't have to care about his credibility with them, but he will always need to be concerned about his credibility with fellow Muslims.
