Agree 100% aboutthe loyalty of muslims in our military and LEO. I wonder about those muslims who post here, from the US and turkey.

I presume that some at least do not take much of the Koran, such as those passages I focused on, literally. Others are probably Muslim by virtue of birth and up-bringing, but are more secular than religious, like many christians and jews.

A truly devout Muslim, however, is presumed to believe that the Koran is the direct word of God spoken to Mohammed. In that case, they must be presumed to believe the passages I quoted. based on what we see going on around the world, that is the inexcapable conclusion. Loyalty to Islam is all that counts, and oaths to other than Islam are made of convenience and not to be taken seriously.

Hooper hits Harvey: On December 5 the New York Times ran an interview with a jihad fighter in Iraq, who declared: "We are fighting for freedom and because the Americans are Jews. . . . The Prophet Muhammad, peace be on him, said, 'Hit the infidels wherever you find them.'" What he represents as a saying of Muhammad is actually the Qur'an's "Verse of the Sword": "Slay the unbelievers wherever you find them . . ." (Sura 9:5).

Two days later, the chief of a banned radical Muslim group, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Maulana Masood Azhar, said: "In Islam the only meaning of jihad was killing," and as if that weren't enough, "it was a conspiracy against Islam to say that Jihad was not killing."

I think that part of the whole "you need an Imam" BS is a cop-out that can be translated as, "I don't really get it, it's too hard to read, and I'd rather just let the guy with the beard tell me what it says."

That and I think that in a lot of the Third World countries where Islam is dominant, many of the adherents are illiterate.

All a person needs to do is watch the PBS presentation: "Mohammed, Legacy of A Prophet".

Even though it was a lengthy apologia for Islam funded by a lot of wealthy Muslims
in the wake of 9-11...an objective person couldn't help but come away realizing
that Mohammed was just a guy who crafted a thug's code of conduct...for surviving
in a tough environment and to thrive by getting as many babes as possible and
take the loot of as many slain infidels as possible.

I was suprised when even a liberal talk-show host here in Los Angeles came away
with some similar conclusions.
