Your full of it. Most of us have been Yankee fans before the new dynasty. There are allot of "new" fans I'm sure but us oldies who sat through the low years of the 70's are still around.

The only reason I cheer for the Yankees to win is because I know it pisses off liberals.

Have a sweet day.

I've been a Yankee fan since before I was born. It's true. My father is such a hardcore Yankee fan that he's genes predisposed me to being a Yankee fan. I first went to Yankee Stadium when I was 5 years old. Bat Day, 1976. And have rooted for them my entire life. I remember "Mr. October". I also remember the brutality of the 80's and the strong teams we had the couldn't get passed the hump. (For this reason I was torn about the 3 division, wildcard change in the early 90's. The whole tradition vs. fairness stuff).

Anyway. Last nights game was a microcosm of the Yankees as I know them. I've been there for the low times; the 80's (and the first 5 innnings of last nights game); the "almost there times in the late 80's early 90's (Giambi hitting his second homerun and Boomer giving up that dinger to Ortiz); and the dynasty times since 1996 (the incredible comeback, Boone's homerun remeniscient of Brocious' heroics).

I have to say that last nights game was one of the greatest Playoff games in history.

Anyone disagree?

When George buys Pedro you will then be his fan.

explain to me what the hell "Cowboy up!" was even supposed to mean.

'Cowboy Up' was started by Kevin Millar (defensive star of the ACLS in my book).

It basically means, when you get thrown from the horse, you have to dust yourself off and get back in the saddle. And keep doing it until the horse is broken.

Nope. I am not that easily swayed. I don't worship all the players on a team, or the entire team. I root for who I want, and it isn't always the same. In fact I was hoping to see a Cubs/Sux series until both those teams proved themselves to be too immature to be there.

I thought it was goo, evenly matched. Would have liked to have seen Roger last longer, but it was great to see a bullpen rise to the occasion. I am actually looking forward to watching the Yanks/Marlins.

I'm sure Hillary was rooting for the Sox.

Well we know the only reason she donned a Yankees cap was for votes. But I think you missed the point of my post.

That's why After 35 years of being a fan I have given up on the Yankees. I had season tickets and used to go to Monday nite games for years. Now it is a Joke.

35 years ago - 1968 to be exact - the Yankees had already won 20 of their 26 World Series, 29 of their 38 league championships. At what point did the joke happen?

Grady should be fired for not pulling Pedro in the 7th.

Oh, I think I got ya. They hate winners. They prefer the parity BS. Equal results, not equal opportunity.

Mike Lupica in todays NY Daily News calls him "Stuart" Little for that boo boo. LOL

Mike Mussina is the unsung hero of that game.

1st and 3rd, no outs and he gets out of it and pitches 2 more scoreless innings.

Unreal.

I've been a Yankees fan since somewhere around 1945, although I admit that these days I usually don't follow basefall until they get into the playoffs.

That was good. Too bad it didn't happen.

This Cub collapse is almost the worst thing to happen in Chicago since the mythical cow (I understand that someone has concluded that the cow story is an urban legend).

It seems the curse is intact. This game was a shocker...I thought Boston had it clinched. I kept channel surfing because it was too painful to watch. Then, all of a sudden it was tied 5-5. Amazing game.
