Thank you, and no offense taken. I doubt that Joe Don's advice was taken. The family seems to smart for that.... or perhaps he was the one who suggested hiring those New Age faith healer frauds.
Be well.

(Prayers for Terri Schiavo. Pro-death Trollers beware: I'm taking names and I won't ever forget.)
To: pollywog
How can a governor place a "moratorium" on criminal executions (despite court orders condemning the accused to death) and not place a freeze on "mercy killings" such as this? And why can't (or won't) the Florida legislature convene and pass or repeal whatever laws are necessary to spare Terri's life?
To: pollywog
I just received this private email. I am weeping and distraught to say the least.
Hi Everone, Just got a call from Suzie, Terri's sister, who is outside of the Hospice House with the whole family. All of the Courts have now denied all motions, appeals and plea's. The emergency motion filed this morning to Gov. Bush to use his executive powers and intervene was also denied by Gov. Bush as well. Terri's mother and Father. There is no more that they can do. Nothing. The only person that can stop this MURDER is Gov. Bush and he has now stated that it is out of his hands and he will not stop it from taking place.
From The Schindler family, Terri's mother and Father, Suzie, Bobby Jr. and Michael ... Suzie wonderful husband to be, want you ALL to know that they would like to have you're continued prayers for Terri. They said Gov. Bush is now their only hope, but that they do not believe he will step up. They appreciate everything all of Terrishope Angel's have done on behalf of Terri as well as all you've done for them. I would ask that you have no hate, just spend your time sending God prayers for Terri and her family. They are the ones who are suffering the most, all of them. I also know each of you are in alot of pain as well. Pray for each other too, please.
I know they feel so much gratitude in their hearts for all of you, I know this, because of the talks we have had. We will plan something VERY spaecial in the days ahead, this I promise all of you. Please be patient with me too. I am signing off now, so Jinks and I can go and be with my daughter for a little while and I will check my mail later tonight. You all should feel good in your hearts for all the effort you have put into this, you have all fought maybe one of the hardest fights ever. And you fought a GOOD FIGHT! I am feeling so empty right now, nothing makes sense to me, nothing at all. The only positive thing I can say to all of you is that Terri is in God's hands and we all know that no matter what man does to Terri, God will care for her, for she is saved through Him. Send your love to her and her family through your prayers. Take time to reflect and find someway to feel God's Mercy and presence in this, because he is present, he is. May God have Mercy on Michael Schiavo, Judge Greer, George Felo's and Yes, even Gov. Bush.
I love you all and from the bottom of my heart I thank you, I really, really thank you!!! I will be in touch with you later and in the days ahead, as to Terri's condition, I ask that God be swift in all ways and loving and kind. God is going to BLESS every one of you, you all know that, I hope. I love you and I am so sorry that this turned out this way, Lisa

Color doesn't matter to me. It
does matter in law, way too much.
If she were Black, with a white
husband & judge wanting to kill
her, this wouldn't be happening.
That's a possible basis for a case
but apparently I've offended you.
Never mind.
And...
Never again.

Standing by, saying another prayer. Thanks for the ping.

First, where do you divine the notion that I've been giving them "advice"? From a direct quote from YOU:
I do know that the family's legal counsel believes that my work has helped them.
Um, help me here. I'm in my mid-50s, and my eyesight ain't what it used to be. Can you highlight where I said "advice"?
Thanks in advance.
And please, pray tell, what is the area in which you are considered a "well-known author in your field?"
Taxadermy? Sanitation Management? Hairdressing? Tarot Card Reading? It's certainly not law, love or logic!
Close, but as usual, no cigar. Computer programming; i.e., "logic". Don't take my word for it, ask Bush2000.
Thanks for playing, etc.

"I doubt that Joe Don's advice was taken." So do I, since it wasn't given, Mr. Troll.
To: All
"May God have Mercy on Michael Schiavo, Judge Greer, George Felo's and Yes, even Gov. Bush."
Okay, I'm sorry, but to make Gov. Bush sound -worse- than Schiavo and Greer and Felos is absolutely insane.
I know people are disappointed in finding out what has been obvious to me for a long time, which is that the judiciary branch in our government has become far more powerful than the executive and legislative branches combined. Have you ever seen the executive branch or the legislative branch win a battle against the judiciary in your lifetime? I haven't. It will take decades of work or a revolution to undo that (neither of which I see anyone ready to commit to), and in the meantime, resistance is futile. Bush is not the guilty party here. There are probably all sorts of things he COULD try and none of them would be any more effective than the attempts he has made already. He could declare an Executive Order for a State of Emergency or whatever he wanted and Greer would say "Your motion for standing has already been denied" and that's it. Short of Bush sending in troops, for which he'd probably be arrested and impeached himself, I doubt there's a damn thing he could do.
Outrageous, you say? How can a mere judge hold more power than the governor, you say? Reality, I say. It's been that way for a while now, while everybody was sleeping. We're no longer a Republic, we are ruled by the Philosopher-Kings of the Judiciary.
And that isn't Jeb Bush's fault.
Schiavo and Greer are the criminals here. I know you're angry, but stop attacking the man who sympathized with our cause, and save your venom for the monsters who are -directly- responsible. Fight the good fight to restore the balance of power between the branches of government.
Or you can waste this incredibly important lesson, and take revenge against Jeb Bush cause it's more satisfying to get an easy kill.

With Republicans like Jeb, we don't need Democrats to do us in.
Believe me, I never imagined such a complete loss of faith in a conservative leader, and I remember Watergate. That was shabby. This is an atrocity.
Jeb Bush has brought shame on us all. His deliberate failure to act, to save a defenseless innocent woman from a gruesome execution, is nothing short of despicable.
To: Graymatter
I must be really tired. Clinton was despicable. He groped, harassed, exploited and raped.
He didn't do this.
To: Graymatter
*sigh*
I see nothing I said got through.
You're still living under the illusion that the executive or legislative branches have any control whatsoever on our judiciary-run-amok.
The only thing he could do THAT WOULD ACTUALLY SAVE HER LIFE would be to send in troops, after which he would immediately be arrested and impeached, and she'd just be killed a few months later. By the judiciary. They will -not- tolerate a challenge to their power.
Perhaps you believe he should, in fact, do that. Maybe. While I am completely disgusted and apalled what Greer has done, I know that HE is the one to blame, and HE should be impeached, which only the legislature can do, and you know what? Even though that power is in the Constitution, I bet you the courts would rule it unconstitutional. I am certain that the judiciary have become powerful enough to destroy the checks and balances that exist to check their power. Who could stop them?
But go ahead. Kill your own. Claim he's just as bad as the democrats, which you know isn't true, a Dem probably would have handed Greer the pen with which to sign the papers and she would have died months if not years ago.
It's okay. After all, someone's blood must spill for this - why should we bother attacking Greer? He's a judge - we can't touch him (but we imagine that Jeb somehow could). But we can destroy Jeb, and that'll make us feel better.
Bush can't change what that Judge did any more than we can. That's what you don't understand.
THE JUDICIARY RUNS OUR COUNTRY. NO EXECUTIVE, NO LEGISLATOR, CAN TOUCH THEM. NONE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO IN YOUR OR MY LIFETIME.
Or you can live in denial, and blame Bush because you THINK he has any real power over a judge. He doesn't. No one does. The only person in this country that can touch a judge is another judge directly higher than him on the chain of command (if there is any), and -they- never attack each other.
It's easier to think we live in a democratic republic, than to admit that Judges we didn't elect are the ones that really run everything now.
It's easier to blame Bush than to face the reality that no one we elect can do a damn thing unless the judiciary says it's okay, and that this is no longer in any way a democracy.
It's easier than to realize that the only thing that will change that is an armed revolution. Are you ready to start it? Let me know if you do. But until you say you're ready to do that, I don't think it's fair to call Bush a coward for not being willing to start it for you.

You know something, I'm not done with telling you how ridiculous your post was to me. Your 'friend' was on this thread for DAYS, posting the most callous stuff to a bunch of people who were trying to save a woman's LIFE, not to mention that some of the people here are friends of the Shindler family. Now I did my penince (sp) for saying my post was not very adult, so you can tell your 'friend' that he should apologize to all the people here who care so deeply about Terri. His words cut like a knife in the heart of those who care, and some who know her.
As far as his Nazi vanity post, I'm sorry, but it was very fascistic to demand people not use certain words or references. That's why people let him have it.
All this guy has done is cause pain to people. On purpose.
Now get off the high horse, and own up to your own stink. Shame on both of you, TOO.

"The only thing he could do THAT WOULD ACTUALLY SAVE HER LIFE would be to send in troops, after which he would immediately be arrested..."
Arrested by whom?
I understand your argument, I've read it before. The rule of law prevails, not the rule of the judiciary. And Bush has the force of law behind him. Nor can any executive ask for a better opportunity to restore the balance among the separate powers.
No elected officials will eagerly call for Jeb's impeachment because he intervened to prevent the starvation killing of a disabled woman. Nobody wants to go on record as saying she should not be given a chance to swallow. Nobody but Greer, who is either corrupt or insane.
And even given a plausible threat of impeachment, a decent human being would act to save her life.
If there is any question under law as to the propriety of that act, there shouldn't be, and a prompt correction would be enthusiastically endorsed by the legislature (those same folks who do the impeaching).
Or do you envision FL legislators caving in to public pressure to throw Jeb out of office for saving a woman from death by starvation?
To: Rytwyng
my letter to Jeb Bush, sent to jeb.bush@myflorida.com
Dear Governor Bush
Before you hearken unto the voices of your advisors, who tell you to "Let Terri Schiavo Starve", may I urge you to hear an alternate point of view: "I was hungry and ye fed me not". I'm told you know the Man who said that. You may recall that He sometimes wears disguises -- "What you did for the least of my brothers, you did for me". Would you let Him starve to death, just because He was disguised as a disabled woman whose adulterous husband wants her dead? I think not.
I'm told that there's some legal way you could intervene to save Terri. Even if there's not, I'm sure that if you walked into her room with a spoon and some food and water, nobody could stop you. Remember that this nation was founded on resisting unjust government -- because human government, necessary though it is, is not the final authority.
Please find some way to save her -- for her own sake, and for the moral health of this country. Thank you.
Prayerfully,
