Should we invite the University lawyer to the next faculty meeting to discuss liability as it relates to personal transportation used by students?

Oh god, I have been in meetings like that. Where you just want to stand up and yell, "Who the hell cares!"

I read it a long time ago. It's very readable. It was probably called the "best" because it was the first one by a player that told inside the locker room stuff.

I liked the book "Babe" by Roger Creamer (or something similar). It was written in the 50's or 60's, but you can still find it. Best Bio of the Bambino. I also liked "Boys of Summer" and some of the writings of Doris Kearns Goodwin (a lousy clintoon apologist, by the way) are among the most entertaining baseball stuff of all time.

I guess I'm getting old. Seems all the good ones are about the 1950's or were written then.

Sure, as long as you don't have to listen to him.

All the Yankees need is a deep fly ball. But Matsui was close to the league leader in grounding into double plays.

Doris Kearns Goodwin probably stole the material from someone else.

Wow, that could have been a base hit up the middle, but the run scores anyway.

Ball Four was a fun book and I'd recommend it.

I picked up a book real cheap once and it turned out to be about the best baseball book I've ever read. It's by Roger Kahn who wrote The Boys of Summer and it's called Good Enough to Dream.

Kahn was hurt and couldn't write so he bought a minor league baseball team with no major league affiliation. It's a true story about life in single A baseball and the story just comes alive.

Do you bring Mariano in with a 3 run lead in the 8th? Tough call. We might need him tomorrow for a couple innings in a tighter game. I might just trot out Wells or Contreras and yank them at the first sign of trouble.
