How's the cinnamon bread? (I'm sooooooooo tempted to thaw the sweet roll dough I have in the freezer. ... Duh! I guess the freezer WOULD BE where I should keep it 'til it's thawed. ... I can't decide if I want cinnamon-pecan or lemon-date-nut filled though. Decisions. Decisions.) ;)

Yes, they are available now. If you donated through our pledge system, you may go to the "Edit Account Profile" page (the link is on our front page, top left) and you should be able to find the link to activate your Free Republic email address.

One caveat: If you use this feature you will need to set your return address in your brower's mail settings to your FR adress. Otherwise when you reply to messages sent to your FR address, you will be revealing your real address.

I found out yesterday that mine works great. I got an email from someone I didn't know, who could not have possibly had my normal email addy but contacted me through FR.

The email addy on my profile page is my FR one.

The person that emailed me turns out to be practically a neighbor and that is why she emailed me - so it was a good thing.

I learned the hard way, and learned very hard - through all my work on the smoking issues to never again publicly post my normal email address.............I'll stick with yahoo or hotmail or something like that.
