As I understand it, there are no indians living in Florida today who are descendants of the original inhabitants. During the 300 years that Spain owned Florida, the natives were killed, died of disease, or were exported to places like Cuba as slaves. When the US bought Florida, there were vitually no indians there. Today's Seminoles came from elsewhere, so consulting with them makes no sense at all.
