If Trump did that, he would also get a huge number of Democrats. He might even be able to form a dominant party.

The problem would be after he bowed out, to age or whatever. Will he build a political structure that will survive?

I would suggest an issue that can attract Democrats: drain the swamp by passing a Constitutional amendment that would put in term limits and give the President a line item veto on spending.
