The big question going into Thursday night’s debate was whether Joe Biden, the clear front-runner in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, would stumble. That turned out to be the wrong one. The right question was whether he had sufficient vigor in his stride.
And the answer came in watching Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg — two of the event’s standout performers — run articulate and impassioned circles around him.

Harris had a fire that Buttigieg lacked, and it was mesmerizing. She challenged Biden not just on busing but on sloppy recent comments of his that seemed affectionate toward segregationists. She picked apart Trump’s boasts of a spectacularly booming economy, telling the right number of right anecdotes at the right time.
And she mixed strength with warmth and even humor. As candidates shouted over one another in a lunge for microphone time, she found a cranny of oratorical space in which to land a good line. “Hey, guys, you know what?” she said. “America does not want to witness a food fight. They want to know how we’re going to put food on their table.” It neatly pegged men as compulsive interrupters — a leitmotif of the previous night’s debate — while flying a feminist flag less strenuously than Kirsten Gillibrand, at the lectern beside hers, did.
Imagine a Harris-Buttigieg ticket, and not only what a wealth of poise but what a double scoop of precedents that would be. ...
… and they should leaven that fantasy with a reality check about how far to the left Harris in particular has moved. She was one of just two candidates on Thursday night who said that she wanted to do away with private health insurance. Sanders was the other.

She flat out lied on the busing question. Mayor Pete could be blackmailed with his lifestyle choices. Neither one could even remotely come back to the middle should they win the nomination.
The speculation is that Perry is the catcher, so he is filling the female role in his personal life. That would make this an all girl ticket, like Thelma and Louise.

God as my witness, I was lounging in the pool last weekend and my son asked about the race, and asked if we were going to do the same prognostication as 2016 (two spiders that were in the pool - the kind with the happy faces on their back, one we called Hillary and one Trump - Hillary spider went off to the side and Trump spider ascended up to the top of the raft. So inside-family joke.)
I told him my opinion of the runners, and said that the Left and Media will try to push a Kamala Harris/Pete Buttigeg ticket down our throats, She the first Black Female President and he the openly gay-married ‘Christian/God-faith’ male VP. They would not win against Trump. They want to SHAME the rest of us with accepting them. They are DUE their rightful place. We MUST anoint these two blasphemous picks.
I don't see Kamala as poised. She had to get emotional or fake emotional to make her point. People will wonder what she will do in a crisis. She is also frequently unable to answer reporters' questions.
And she has the imperious manner of someone who is used to getting her own way (and at a loss as to what to do when she doesn't get it). Maybe she will have improved by 2024, but it's too early to call her "poised."
Mayor Pete is "poised" and holding forth on every topic under the sun, but that's just surface smugness, something you get polished at Harvard and Oxford. I don't see much depth to the man and don't think he's learned much about the real world.
I like Kamala Harris.
She destroys Radical Fenimism, by serving as an example to young girls that to get ahead in this world, you don’t need an education, Degrees, or Hard work, you just need a good set of knee pads, and to make sure that you pick the right men to bang that can advance your career.

The accolades for Kamel Harris sound like the same ones bathhouse barry got when he was running. I guess she is the new anointed/annoying one.
I agree. Kamala was just awful. Unless one considers a few cute statements and crude interruptions of other as positives. Yet the media, include Brett Baier, jumped in right away to praise her.

I do believe this is a plausible ticket for the rats. It should go down in flames in the general, but it is plausible that the rats will think this is a solid ticket to run in Nov’20.
Kamala always puts out her best effort to get what she wants.
If that ticket wins, it is a sure bet for extremely regressive taxes of the shrinking middle class (the wealthy always figures out a way out). Over reactive laws to close loopholes. Resulting in very high unemployment, runway inflation, plummeting stock and bond markets, loss of confidence in the USD and riots.
