Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar wants a border wall, and he's ready to order the military to do the job.
In an amendment filed on Wednesday to a defense spending bill, Gosar proposed authorizing the Secretary of the Army to carry out President Trump's signature campaign promise of a security wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Gosar's proposal was tucked in the slew of amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act, a massive annual appropriations exercise that determines military spending and policy. The Hill reported Gosar's amendment in a roundup of the most notable of the 554 amendments to the NDAA that are on the table.
Gosar appears to have seized on an idea Trump has proposed in public and private....

If construction had begun a year ago by the Army Corps of Engineers, the Wall would have been finished by now.
Roads, bridges, viaducts and walls were all built by the Roman army as part of their duty. The army can do more than fight.
This is a very, very good idea.

For crying out loud. You aren’t kidding.
Something tells me that the “Wall” will never be built or come close to what we were promised or thought it would be. I hope I am wrong and would love to be.

Have the illegals build the wall. Put Sheriff Arpaio in charge of the crews. Tent cities. P/B Jelly sandwiches and Kool Aid..
Ryan and his Rinos are adamant, they do not want the wall. They think it’s barbaric. If you doubt that don’t forget they put language in the CR specifically banning any new wall construction.

Cheap labor for pro-business pubs and more poor non-white people to vote dem seems like it would be hard to overcome. When two opposed political groups both have reasons for keeping the status quo going it isn’t likely to be stopped, in my opinion. We’ll see I guess.
I would be satisfied with a weekly list of all felony convictions by illegals. With the perpetrators of murders and rapes names read during the daily briefings for that week. It seems like it would be doable, and it was mentioned in the campaign as well.

i think we should have illegal aliens build the wall-
Just send sniper units to the border to train.
All they need is the money.
Just a big pot of money - $10 to 20 billion.
All the Army would have to do is provide the funding code to the contracting folks at the Army Corps of Engineers, who are managing the contracting for Homeland Security anyway.
And then make a few boondoggle TDY trips to watch it go up. Maybe have some review conferences in San Diego and DC.

go after and deport those that have overstayed their visas and deport them immediately
20yr moratorium on all immigration and entire families will be subject to deportation if someone comes here and overstays a visa while “visiting” relatives
Do all of that and you won’t have to build a wall, even though it would still be nice to have. And the money savings would pay for 10 walls, within a few years. And, most of that won’t cost the taxpayer a nickel, in fact, the treasury might even make a little money on the remittances.
Consider...
(1) About 75% of the people who get one foot on USA soil qualify for “Catch & Release.”
Illegal entry is a misdemeanor. They receive a citation, a court date, possible detainment for a few days, then they are released.
By law, women and children can only be detained for a maximum of 20 days, after which they are released under the supervision of Immigration Services. Men cannot be “indefinitely” detained in the USA if their home country refuses to take them back, so almost all such males are eventually released, even if they have a criminal record.
(2) Any illegal can claim that he/she has a “credible fear” of being returned to their home country. About 90% are approved for temporary residence. A “Refugee” hearing is scheduled for about six months later. If they want to disappear in the interior USA, there is no way to stop them.
(3) 50% of illegal immigrants enter the USA legally. Then, they just over stay their visas. No Wall can keep them out.
(4) Universal E-Verify, followed up by civil lawsuits against illegal employers, would permanently reduce the number of illegal immigrants trying to cross the border.
Yep - use a combination of the Army Corps of Engineers, the Navy’s Sea Bees and the Air Force’s Red Horse...get it done quick, under budget and right...
