He added, there are two darkhorse names the President-elect should consider for his administration: Joe Lieberman and Ted Cruz.
Root, an early supporter of Trump's, makes the case for Cruz for the Supreme Court vacancy, and offers up 5 reasons why Lieberman would be a solid choice for Secretary of State:

Truly I don’t think Trump has unlimited political capital to spend with Congress and using on nominating an UNVETTED Ted Cruz for the USSC, mostly to appease his ego and squelch a future disastrous GOP presidential campaign would be a waste of it, imho

Lieberman would send a message that Trump is serious about Israel and keeping Israel safe from its enemies. Other than that, I can’t think of any reason to choose Lieberman.

Did you write Bush’s Amnesty papers? Is your wife a member of the CFR with open borders positionings? Did you lie about being a Canadian citizen and only change it after you were sworn in as Senator? I don’t think Trump ever claimed the list was exhaustive and it would be hard to argue that Cruz is unqualified.
Further, Cruz could sit on that court for the next 40 years.
Finally, there are Senators who might otherwise oppose Trump’s first (only?) nominee because of Garland but who would probably let this one slip through just to get Cruz out of the Senate.
Yeah, I know some Freepers here still don’t like him from the campaign but it would be a good move on Trump’s part.

And understand: I think Cruz was 100% wrong on the Trump thing but that doesn’t undo all the good in the man.

You would be Ok with him deciding a child born to a Palestinian father and an American mother in Saudi Arabia is a natural born citizen eligible to be President?
A decision by the Supreme Court like that would gut in perpetuity the protection the natural born citizen clause provided before the Kenyanesian Usurpation.

I agree that the campaign is over.
But as a matter of principle, I don’t think he should get to determine what ‘natural born’ means
wow I did not even know about this Voting Violation deception...that is not acceptable behavior for a presidential or SC candidate. He should have resigned from the Senate for that
