As a Constitutional lawyer, Texas Senator Ted Cruz knows a thing or two about the law.
As a conservative senator, he knows what a tank of sharks Washington, D.C. can be.
After todays announcement by FBI Director James Comey that Hillary Clinton would skate on charges of wrongdoing, in regards to her hiding, destroying, and total mishandling of sensitive emails, Senator Cruz made a strong statement.
From his Facebook page, and in its entirety:
While I have tremendous respect for the dedicated men and women of the FBI, I have serious concerns about the integrity of Director Comeys decision, and how it threatens the rule of law.
Director Comey has rewritten a clearly worded federal criminal statute. In so doing, he has come dangerously close to saying that grossly negligent handling of classified information should not result in serious consequences for high-level officials. In a nation where the rule of law is supposed to matter, this is troubling.
Yesterday, Americans celebrated the 240th birthday of our Republic. We honored not only those who fought and died to defend our way of life, but the constitutional Republic for which they sacrificed. If we are to remain a beacon of hope and freedom for the rest of the world, it is incumbent upon us to ensure that we remain a nation of laws, and that our laws apply equally and fairly to us all. Under President Obama, we have seen the most politicized Department of Justice in history; I very much hope that politicization has not similarly corrupted the Federal Bureau of Investigation. I join my Senate Judiciary colleagues, including Chairman Grassley, in calling for public transparency of, and full access to, all the information that the FBI used to come to todays dubious decision.
I dare say, unless you have a transcript of the chance meeting between Hillarys lecherous, corrupt husband, and the equally corrupt Attorney General Loretta Lynch from last week, you wont get the whole story.
Ill go further and say that Clintons recent suggestion that she may keep Lynch on as AG, once she rousts her pal, Trump, in the general election, doesnt seem like a You scratch my back, and Ill scratch yours scenario, at all!
Or maybe just a little.
These are the reasons we need men like Senator Cruz in the Senate.
I’ll consider listening to him once he actually DOES something other than flap his gums.
should be 30,000 emails. sorry I had thought I wrote 30,000, but only 30 came up. sorry
There you are.
You mean like save your 2nd Amendment rights?
Is Ted not backing Mrs. Bill after all?
He’s hoping he can get in.
nassty
Exactly and many, many, MANY others have said what he did and more, today; even hard core Dems!
Comey is probably the fall guy. Funny how Lynch who's been the key official mentioned in the investigation for months wasn't the one who delivered the news. Methinks Comey delivered the message so she could keep her job.
What legislation was it that he got passed and signed, again?
Susan Wright wrote that. Not Cruz.
Oh please stop pimping out this damned CINO! he’s utterly useless and NO “CONSTITUTIONAL” anything at all.
The text doesn’t distinguish between what Cruz is quoted as saying and what Susan Wright is saying. It all kind of blends together and that is confusing some of us.
Negligence? Or a desire not to commit suicide?
Well she’s a sorehead
A senator attacks Hillary’s skating and some attack the senator.
...What does this clown mean by her pal Trump? What a loser....
Cruz is the scorpion in the Scorpion and the Frog tale.
Redstate tankers for Shakespeare would see Ted spray sneeze and admire the velocity of it as a “powerful response” to his overwhelming need for gratification.
It’s just best not to post Cruz crap. He talks like Clint Eastwood, but he is forever Mr. Ed to me.
A new color scheme is in order, how about Dark Sienna State?
Lol.Lyin’ Ted. Trump branded this phoney Snake handler perfectly. GrandpaMunster. HA! Pray this AssClown, LittleMarco, Jeb all go down the memory hole with Obama, and the Clintons.
Go Trump.
