I sense boredom among the Cruzers.

I reached the end of the internet again and it was an article about Ryan Kalish.

OTOH, conventions tonite in CT, teaparty type conservatives in each of the 5 CDs and Senate race. Odd that conservatives are dominating the GOP grassroots in CT.

Tell me again the philosophy behind supporting “sacrificial lamb” candidates? Laying the groundwork for a future run?

Politics1.com reported

And the Independent political report

http://www.independentpoliticalreport.com/2016/05/former-gop-congressman-kerry-bentivolio-running-for-the-libertarian-party-vice-presidential-nomination-also-considering-run-for-congress-as-a-libertarian/

followed up and confirmed that Former Congressman Kerry Bentivolio (ousted in the 2014 primary) is seeking the Libertarian VP nomination and may run as a Libertarian or independent for his former Congressional seat.

I opposed his renomination, mostly because I suspected he was Paulbot.

I didn’t have a problem with Bentivolio, it was Amash who needed to be defeated.

If he wants to help Gary Johnson elect Hillary and make Nancy the Speaker of the House again, I feel vindicated in my opposition.

The ones I have a problem with in this cherry-picked list are:

1.5 Abortion

They are pro-abortion for any reason at any time.

2.0 Economic Liberty

They do not believe in national borders--period. People should be free to enter into the USA at will, with no government oversight whatsoever.

3.1 National Defense

They are isolationist--plain and simple. They would withdraw the US not only from NATO, but from all foreign countries and close any US military bases not on US soil.

As for the remainder: 1.6 The War on Drugs is a Tyrannical joke; 2.8 Education: I don't really believe in compulsory public education at the hands of the state; to me that's an overt tool used to brainwash kids; 3.1 I believe in strong national defense, but the whole hawk/dove issue is something for each individual to decide.

These planks would indeed result in a very minimal government, and, if everything remained Constitutional, it's mostly the right idea, with the personal caveats and exceptions I've noted above.

Actually, Donald Trump should enough of a libertarian/classical liberal to suit the needs of most libertarians. Given what's happening with the Revolution and all, there's little reason to look at the LPUSA this year.

If the LPUSA weren't so wrong on Abortion, National Defense (naive) and Immigration (naive), they'd be a viable national party, as long as everything was coupled with a strong embrace and respect for the Constitution and our Founding Traditions.

When they trend toward anarchy is when I start to have issues with LPUSA dogma, especially with the Immigration/Borders and National Defense planks.

Which is why there's a distinct but important difference between libertarians and LPUSA members (capital 'L' Libertarians)...

Vote Trump!

Bentivolio is not an anti-Semite like Amash, but he’s still a Paulbot reindeer breeder with no clue about what conservatism stands for. Sure, he’s more conservative than Trump, but that’s a low bar.

I know of NO NeverTrump people who plan to vote libertarian. It would be antithetical to the reasons they are not voting for Trump in the first place.
