Trump Losing Delegates in State After State Through Incompetence
Patterico's Pontifications ^ | April 11, 2016 | Patterico

Tsk, tsk.

Donald Trump’s effort to reset his campaign following defeat in Wisconsin showed no signs of paying off this weekend, as a series of technical failures by his campaign set his hopes back even further.

From Thursday to Saturday, Trump suffered setbacks in Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, South Carolina and Indiana that raise new doubts about his campaign’s preparedness for the long slog of delegate hunting as the GOP race approaches a possible contested convention. He lost the battle on two fronts. Cruz picked up 28 pledged delegates in Colorado. In the other states, rival campaigns were able to place dozens of their own loyalists in delegate spots pledged to Trump on the first ballot. This will matter if Trump fails to win a majority of delegates on the first ballot in Cleveland, as his delegates defect once party rules allow them to choose the candidate they want to nominate.

Trump’s campaign mounted a haphazard campaign for delegates in Colorado, where hundreds ran to be at large representatives in Cleveland at the state convention in Colorado Springs. The frontrunner’s advisers repeatedly instructed supporters to vote for the wrong candidates—distributing the incorrect delegate numbers to supporters. Cruz, who traveled to address the convention, swept the state’s 34 delegates on the back of a disciplined organizing effort, that included text message and video displays advertising his preferred slate.

This is a very distressing development, and I think my sentiments can best be summed up in video form.

Nope.

He signs 22K paychecks on the FRONT. That’s who we need.

In baseball the pitcher throws a fastball in the strike zone over the plate. That is the way the game is played.

It is cheating to throw a curve ball...and then it just barely crosses the corner of the plate? Come on now.

Play by the rules.

If you believe Cruz can win in FL, PA, OH, MI, etc., I suggest you put down the crack pipe.

It is total votes for the general election...delegates are no longer involved...the electoral college will be in Trumps favor ......you are delusional if you think he is going to lose now....if it goes any other way and the vapid broad clinton or commie bernie gets close you will see violence...lots of it....The tree of liberty needs to be fed....keep your powder dry

Just because you did not learn from the last election when the GOPe stole delegates and the Cruz supporters did does not make Cruz supporters part of the corruption. Just means we are a little quicker on the up take.

Maybe you will learn from this election and get involved a little more for the next election. But some how I doubt this will help you since I get attacked every time I mention actually getting involved instead of complaining.

Did I say that he would win. No I dont think I did. But just keep insulting Cruz supporters because that seems like you do best.

If Trump cant see that he needs to get involved with the delegates and not just give speeches maybe he is not qualified to lead this country. It was out there for him to see just like it was for Cruz. Maybe he needs better campaign managers because he didnt get the knowledge. And that is bad leadership right there.

Trump is using the bomb the Colorado GOP gave him to blow the corruption there sky high. I think Trump planned it that way.

Heh, that's hysterical.

Your candidate doesn't have a clue.

Trump is using the bomb the Colorado GOP gave him to blow the corruption there sky high. I think Trump planned it that way. He knew the GOP elitist rules in Colorado. A good warrior chooses the battle - and when it’s not winnable you do an end run. That is what Trump is doing and it’s working perfectly. Look what’s happening on twitter, on facebook, here, on Drudge, and in the pressers.

Everybody has to have a dream, If there was any strategy which i highly doubt Trump blew it with his infantile little rants.

He’s got Trump and Cruz on Google Alert.

Next week when Cruz is eliminated mathematically do you think he will take a rest?

Keep thinking that way. Or objectively watch twitter, facebook, Drudge, here, and Trump’s pressers. He’s blowing it up with the ammunition the Colorado GOP freely handed to him.

Ted isn’t looking too good right now, and the firestorm is just starting.

Could it be that it’s the GOPe operatives doing the dirty work? That’s what it is.

There’s a difference between party rules and integrity. Personally, I believe the delegate count should closely reflect the voters. If the party doesn’t see it that way, I won’t see it their way in November.

The GOPe stole the Mississippi senate seat from conservative Chris McDaniel. I won’t be fooled by their games any longer.

Blah, blah, blah . . .

As if you know who has and who has not been involved and for how long.

Nothing about "shoulda" changes the fact that the process is rigged at the moment and nothing anyone does in their own State changes the fact that the GOPe has a headlock on several states.

Nor does anything change the fact that Ted Cruz is a far cry from what he pretends to be.

So by your "logic", they voted when the USSC overturned the will of the Stated to make queers marrying one another legal, decided to not enforce immigration laws, and so on.

——then we shot people to drive the point home.——

You plan on starting to shoot people if Trump doesn’t get the 1237 delegates?
