What rich irony, if one of the most calculating politicians in modern American politics miscalculated the will of Wisconsin's Republican voters, something Democrats have done repeatedly since 2010.
If Donald Trump loses Wisconsin's primary on Tuesday, it will not be because of the uproar over his comments about Ted Cruz's wife, Heidi. Or his reaction to the confrontation with a female reporter that led to an arrest summons for his campaign manager. Or even his suggestion that women who get abortions should face some form of punishment if Roe v. Wade is overturned.
Instead, it will be his misunderstanding of Badger State conservatives' deep relationship with their elected officials, one that does not take well to outsiders trying to divide them from the people they worked so hard to put and keep in office.
Trump ran into a buzz saw in Wisconsin last week when he went on the local talk-radio circuit, which is staunchly conservative and widely influences Republican voters very different from national talk-show hosts who don't ask him tough questions and lean toward rabble-rousing rather than ideological discussions....

Trump was praised here for refusing to discuss or deny a controversial situation he was in.
Just ignore it and don’t dignify it with a response, one trumper put it.
And yet Ted Cruz is supposed to run to the gossip mongers and talk about his personal life... he said it was unfounded gossip and it is.
If I were trumpers, I’d stay as far away from sex lives as I could possibly get.
Oh yes he shall do, but Cruz won’t get anywhere near that, nor “stop” Trump.
No— I was talking about Cruz being mathematically eliminated from being able to reach 1237-— Like Cruz has said about Kasich and how he should drop out, because he can’t reach 1237. If you think candidates should not drop out before they know if Trump will reach 1237 then Jeb and Pataki and Gilmore should have stuck around too.. Hell anyone could win.. Al Gore could possibly win too..
Probably something similar to the one Roberts made. And maybe something similar that Scalia refused to make.
So either way, we're stuck with a Democrat. That's just great. Personally, I don't see Trump beating Hillary. I mean why vote for a Democrat pretending to be a Republican when you can have the real thing.
Do you folks even see the way you talk to others just because they back a different candidate? Would you come up to me in public and say things like that? Is that how you were brought up?
TRump is still whining like a baby about losing those Louisiana votes.
As for the early primaries, he is so lucky. Rubio was still in taking Cruz votes and Trump’s foot had not yet been shattered into pieces as he shot himself in the foot repeatedly.
Early voting went to him that many wish they hadn’t voted early.
Trump has his zombie herd here but out in the real world it’s different.
Like Cruz, these people would criticize Trump regardless of what he says. If he says the sky is blue, they'd say no it's not. If he said the sky is not blue, they'd say no it's not.
Reince Priebus---I wouldn't brag about the "successes" of a low-life Washington Oligarchy Uniparty Insider, but that's who these so-called journalists ADMIRE, like they admired Clinton for being an especially good liar.
If Reince was winning any local elections, it was while he was lying, as in 2014 saying "If you give us the Senate WE WILL REPEAL OBAMACARE." (And many other lies I won't bother listing here but media know.)
Why do you and others think FR is a place to praise Reince Preibus and slam the first genuine NON PROFESSIONAL POLITICIAN we've had, while every professional politician has screwed us, funded Obamacare, funded Syrian invasion, maintained wide open borders for their owners, funded every left wing wet dream, everything Obama wished for in his wildest dream. Yes it is the OMNIBUS bill and would not have happened without RYAN.
My congressman is a left wing Dem and I don't give a crap if he's LOCAL. I imagine conservatives in Wisconsin don't care if it's a local person SCREWING THEM, but that principles and dishonesty trump "local."
Trump's Waterloo? That is in media dreams. LOL!!! Yes, after Wisconsin, they have two weeks to beat Trumpers over the head with a Wisconsin win---THEN the next two weeks Trump nails state after state, starting with New York followed by a string of states Trump will win handily. It's "Waterloo" if you can cancel the next dozen primaries that follow it.
The BIAS is reported, and stenographed or regurgitated onto Free Republic is a disgrace.
These people reach for ANYTHING, regardless of what it is, to bash Trump. They hate Trump so bad---because he's going to end the Government Controlled Media, and the RNC controlled Media gravy train same as he's going to smash that of the Washington Insider Cocktail Party Circuit.
All Cruz is currently is a stooge for the GOPe. If he fails to stop Trump he will become the worst pariah in the party since Nixon. Cruz is running as a de facto loser and he wears the label well.
So if he had directly answered the question, that would have settled it for you?
LOL.
NYS is a GOPe state. They will pick the winner's delegates.
Trump better hope that he gets 1237 delegates before the convention, else at the convention, NY will be his Fallujah.
You'd better worry and worry a whole LOT, about what happens IF somehow Cruz ( which all things considered, is NOR going to happen ) is the nominee. He'll lose far worse than Romney, McCain, and/or Dole did !
And yours wasn't an argument, but merely an unsupported opinion.
Your abject lack of knowledge of politics and facts is appalling!
Omg, you are truly brainwashed.
Who do you think is going to be at those cocktail parties?
It will be millionaire buddies, beautiful women and Hollywood types and Donald will be holding forth.
Don’t buy a dress, sweet, you will not be invited.
Of course. What other reason could there be?
Too bad she doesn’t read FR, she’d learn much more here, than she apparently knows.
