Ingraham: Cruz, Trump Need To Meet And Work Together
RealClearPolitics ^ | March 30, 2016 | Ian Schwartz

Laura Ingraham calls for Cruz and Trump "to put the country in the front seat, put your egos in the backseat" to form a coalition to fight for what is best for the country. Ingraham appeared on Tuesday night's broadcast of Hannity.

INGRAHAM: We are not going to get there if we let the establishment continue to pull the strings like everyone's a bunch of marinettes and just sit there and the establishment sits back. By the way, these candidates have no audience, they have no supporters. Nobody wants open borders. The Republican party, the voters are united against the stupid Trans-Pacific Partnership and they're against this stuff. There is no audience....

I would still vote for Cruz if he had the nomination but believe he should drop out and work in concert with Trump to take the WH, while regrouping for a run in 2020. He can serve no real purpose by making a vendetta the main part of his reason to be there.

If Cruz had dropped out after Super Tuesday before most of the damage to both were done it would have made more sense. CRuz had lost all the races on Super Tuesday and it was clear he could not get the delegates to win the nomination before the convention.

Whether it was pride, ego, or whispers in his ear he let the GOPe convince him that by staying in he either had a chance or he gains a committee chairmanship after the election.

He will be the cause of the GOPe retaining control of the nominee and not pushing for the will of the voters on issues.

If this were a two team or two person event I could concur with your post. However, this is like North Carolina and Syracuse playing to the end of the game but neither reach 100 points so the GOPe says we have to put x team as the winner that lost earlier in the tournament because we need a team that can score 100 points”

(Yes I know NC did but using them anyway for the analogy).

Proud? no, understand why? Yes. He did what was needed for this corporation. My businesses advertise on radio and Television stations and in shows they do not agree with because it is good for their business, That is the difference between individual positions and corporate positions.

Lawyers and Politicans have no such needs.

At this point according to Politico There are 943 remaining delegates in the Republican race.

Trump has 736 delegates of the 1237 he needs. He has to win 53 percent of the remaining delegates.

Cruz has 436 delegates of the 1237 he needs. He has to win 85 percent of the remaining delegates.

If Trump wins 50 percent of New York Delegates and half of the California delegates then Cruz cannot get to 1237 without other candidates freeing their delegates and they then vote for Cruz. I see that as the most likely scenario at this time. However, that also means that some of those delegates will go to Trump rather than Ceuz which also makes it easier for Trump.

The GOPe at this time still wants Rubio and KAsich to hold their delegates to ensure Trump cannot get to 1237 on the first ballot. That means Cruz will not get 1237 either. The game at this point for the GOPe is to stop Trump then put their person in place on later ballots.

Laura is stupidly buying the false equivalence of Trump and bought and paid for career politician Cruz. The establishment is trying to equate Trump and Cruz so they can slide their boy Cruz in at the convention.

Laura has been at the forefront of exposing the politicians owned by the Cheap Labor Express. She has also exposed the TPP and H-1B visas as a scam. She is a good little chick on this stuff. Let’s just leave it there.

>> Trump is just too bad a person and too bad a candidate <<

As for having Trump & Cruz on the same ticket:

Assume for the sake of argument that we don’t know whether Trump is a good person or a good candidate. Ditto for Cruz. Give them both the benefit of the doubt and keep an open mind for the time being.

But then, if Trump enlisted Cruz as his Veep choice, wouldn’t a rational voter conclude either (1) that every terrible word Trump said about Cruz was a lie, or (2) that Trump is lying now when he tells us that Cruz is qualified to be VP? Either Trump was lying in the past, or he’s lying now. How could a “good” person tell such blatant falsehoods?

Likewise, if Cruz should decide to join a ticket with Trump, wouldn’t it persuade the rational person either (1) that all the bad things Cruz said about Trump in the past were lies, or (2) that Cruz’s new fondness for Trump is totally insincere and unprincipled? Who could vote for a ticket that included such an unprincipled man?

In other words, we could have two apparent liars embracing one another and pretending that, after all, neither was a liar!

Such a situation would present a twisted pretzel of a logical dilemma, something that could make for an impossible electoral situation. In short, I think we’d better pray that it doesn’t happen.
