Cruz is disliked personally by the DC insiders. But he is on team GOPe, he is a sitting US Senator and his wife is a Golden Sachs VP. You don’t get much more insider than that. Cruz claiming to be an outsider is a about as credible as Jebs’ claim that he was a outsider.
In baseball the middle innings reliever is the set-up man. He set’s up the other team for Mariano Rivera.
They were. There were also leaders who did things before they got into government. Adams was a teacher before he became a lawyer. Lincoln ran a store for a time, was a postmaster & county surveyor before becoming a lawyer.
Unlike the lawyers who become politicians today, Adams & Lincoln worked outside of gov’t before they ever entered into it. Gave them a perspective lawyer/politicians don’t seem to have a clue about, IMO.
