His wife worked there. They had a brokerage account there. They took out a standard equity loan on the value of their stocks.

...and don’t forget Romney’s running the same year and Occupy Wall Street had been a big show just prior. Not a good year at all to have anything to do with Goldman.
Cruz likely won’t get into legal trouble, but politically it does not look good...now two loans.
