Your chart was ... what can I say... you tried.
I was leaning to Trump because I thought he could win in the general ... perhaps a little easier than Cruz.
Family is visiting us here this week and I got an eye-opener when two educated, fairly conservative women almost gagged when I mentioned Trump.
They literally can’t stand him.
So just a tiny personal thing but they were so emphatic I just wondered if this is a more widespread sentiment among somewhat non-political types who are voters.
Frankly, I think it's the other way round.
Without a compelling political ideology, it seems voters go for the "prettiest" candidate: defined as the one they "enjoy" most.
Trump has that one locked up like no one, ever.
Who are they for and what state do they live in ?
As in most things, personal anecdotes are not statistics. There is no substitute for actually doing the research on a candidate instead of relying on the emotions of friends.
Interesting. Everyone I talked with over the Holidays was a. pro Trump and pro Cruz, about half and half. b. Very Worried about the election in November. Many comments like, "our last chance," "we're on the brink," "we're at a crossroads as a country," and, in general, people very worried about their children and grandchildren, jobs, debt, terrorism, Islam, immigration and you name it. .
