WASHINGTON -- Donald Trump continues to lead in national polls among the many GOP contenders for president, but members of Utah's all-Republican congressional delegation said they believe voters will make a different choice.
"It's a problem because he's both an asset and a tremendous liability," Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said of the possibility the billionaire businessman and reality TV star could become the Republican nominee in 2016.
Trump is attracting huge crowds, "telling people what they want to hear, and they're all mad at everybody here" in Washington, Hatch said. "But you still have to be responsible, no matter what the polls show or anything else."(continued)

If Trump takes most of the votes in Utah, dear Mormons, then he is the one you have to support!!!
And to hell with Borrin Orin Hatch!!!
You people think you can tell us how we are going to vote, live our lives, how many sheets of toilet paper we use...NOT!!!
THOSE days are OVER!!! WE are the ones running this election, not YOU!!!
LOL
Sure - no matter what the polls say - the GOPe know better.
That is why they are hated.
So being responsible means voting for the same old RINOs who did not do a thing to prevent this mess we are in, and fact helped?
Happy New Year, it’s going to be a fun ride! :)
Seems to me if Mr. Trump is saying things that appeal to the American people & Mr. Hatch is complaining about it,then maybe Mr. Hatch had better check & see why he isn’t appealing to the American people, instead of condemning Trump.
Orrin Grant Hatch should have run again in 2016 to show them how things are done; he could have corrected his errors of, was it, 2000? Except for Mike Lee, who has UT elected that is or was very good?
the mormon church has condemned trump’s muslim immigration ban and welcomes syrian refugees to utah. a jewish couple i know echoed similar sentiments. could being victims of discrimination give them a different perspective on things?
As hard as it is to believe, Orrin Grant Hatch, a PA native, when he was first elected in 1976, was considered a hard-right candidate. He may have backed Reagan over Ford, but one wouldn’t have thought that since. He unseated a Democrat named Moss, but Hatch is now the moss-ridden one.
Hey “Orifice”, the people have had enough of “go along to get along” in DC.
Remember what Orrin Grant Hatch said in the summer of 1998? He went on a talk show to “beg” Mr. Bill to “come clean” about Monica Lewinsky. It was a disgusting Hatch appearance; virtually all of his appearances since have been sell-outs. In fact, hardly anyone is a bigger sell-out than Orrin Grant Hatch. It’s amazing how Utahans attached themselves to Hatch.
I can’t stand the blow hard idiot!!!
Most Utahans attach themselves to odd characters.....
What is certain is that the establishment will never rally behind one candidate if the candidate is Trump. They will do everything in their power to destroy Trump, even voting for Hillary. So much for getting behind one candidate early in the process to assure a Republican win. They are no good, lying, scum. All their names need to go in a black book for special attention after Trump wins.
Do you think Mormans are pro amnesty because they see the *potential* for converts? Not snark ... just attempting to figure out why conservative leaning Utah would be pro amnesty.
Pro polygamy?
That’s exactly it. Same with the Catholic Church.
They are both willing to destroy this country to enrich themselves.
And one last observation, the Republican Party in Utah is not conservative, it’s LDS. They’ve never seen a tax they don’t like, and are more than happy to have government tell you how to live your life. They align on conservative moral issues only.
