As Trumps VP, CRuz will be unstoppable in 8 years.
Is it clear in your mind that the last sitting VP to win election to POTUS was GHW Bush - and the last one before him was Martin van Buren in 1836?

GHWB was elected as the "third term" for Reagan, and van Buren was elected as Andrew Jackson's designated successor. To take a reelection, let alone a third term, for granted is IMHO pretty presumptuous. Trump has not even won a single election yet, and you propose to canonize him a political saint??

I didn’t realize that, but believe the situation we are in now is not comparable to anything that has happened historically.

I certainly do hope that Trump is so successful that his VP will be the most obvious person to succeed him. I’m sure that Trump will want a good man like Cruz shine as VP, so that people will have 8 years to get to know Ted Cruz.

I totally agree with you! Ted is too meek.

"The Veterans Administration is a scandal.
It's corrupt, and what's going on is a disgrace.
And, believe me, if I win, if I become president,
that will end.
The veterans will be treated properly."

If Iowa goes Cruz—and that is very possible. Who will be second? Trump? Sure not going to be Huckabee. But, the real question is who will win New Hampshire? Trump? I don’t think The Fat Man has a chance to unseat Trump here. Then, in the south—looks like trump all the way.

I predicted a year ago Trump would be well ahead by the beginning of 2016, followed by Cruz, and with Jeb at <5%. I also said that he would schlong Hillary, but good.

Unfortunately, I can't find the post where I made those predictions.

Trump took over the lead in Republican polls this summer and has held onto it through a series of controversies, including a call to ban all non-U.S. Muslims from entering the country.

It's not a controversy when the majority of citizens want this.

Through all that, his lead has actually grown, and as the calendar turns to 2016, he has started to put rivals Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio in his rear view.

Perhaps Rubio. Cruz is running tough competition and could very well win this. The problem the media has is they are terrified of both Trump and Cruz.

What a wonderful way to begin the year.

I pray to God it ends as happily.

Was just joking about the Trump call. Here is a real prediction I made on how SCOTUS would rule in the Mcdonald case. Posted June 09, 2010, 19 days before the June 28, 2010 announcement =>

__________________________________________________________________

Prediction: In a 5-4 decision, SCOTUS will incorporate the Second Amendment via the Due Process Clause of XIV. Justice Thomas will write a brilliant concurring opinion in which he explains why the original understanding of the Privileges or Immunities Clause protects the RKBA.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2530518/posts?page=5#5

__________________________________________________________________

This is how it turned out =>

The Court held that the right of an individual to "keep and bear arms" protected by the Second Amendment is incorporated by the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment and applies to the states.

In his concurring opinion, Justice Thomas alone supported overturning the Slaughter-House and Cruikshank decisions, proposing that "the right to keep and bear arms is a privilege of American citizenship that applies to the States through the Fourteenth Amendment Privileges or Immunities Clause."

Well it would be a real good test of someone’s forecasting skills, to see if (anyone) anywhere, actually forecast Trump’s rise.

Anywhere.
