If you had to vote in your state primary/caucus today, knowing what you know now about the various declared and probable candidates, who would you vote for? Why? Who would you like to see as the running mate for your preferred candidate? If you could help staff your candidates cabinet and other top appointments, who would you choose? If you could recommend different congressional leaders than we have now, who would they be? And who would you like to see on the Supreme Court and why? And finally, feel free to donate to Free Republic.

Jerry Edwin Smith is a guaranteed filibuster and he is sooooooo good that we should do what Reid did and change rules to a straight up or down vote. When Jerry is confirmed, there will be a national epidemic of suicides of the Lois Lerners and other Obozo miscreants.
SecHHS: Dr. Ben Carson or Rick Santorum:
Sec Energy: Sarah Palin but abolish department eventually;
SecEducation; Appoint someone chosen by Scott Walker and see to the enactment of regulations favoring homeschooling, independent schools, de-emphasizing and defunding government schools; abolishing Common Core and letting kids have meals they will eat in their cafeterias. Then: Abolish Department and leave regulatory authority with HHS
SecVeteransAffairs: Allan West
SecCommerce: Jeff Sessions to abolish all these nefarious trade deals like the Trans Pacific whatchmacallit, NAFTA et al., and ANYTHING remotely related to the European Union or Carly Fiorina if she would enforce that agenda and Sessions wants to stay in the Senate
SecLabor: Ask Scott Walker for a nominee blooded in his battles with labor, make Right to Work national for all states, review and rid the government of bad regulations, defang the NLRB and ten, leaving regulatory power to Justice Department. Then abolish Department
SecHomelandSecurity: Rand Paul (Bevin will choose a suitable replacement Senator and, if Rand wants to go back to the Senate at some point, he can primary McConnell). Look to abolish the Department

SCOTUS: Any 40 year olds who are scintillating writers and legal scholars who are provably hard-line and who excite Ted Cruz's admiration. This is Ted's very biggest skill. He knows the players and they know him.
Litmus tests for all judges and justices: Babies, Guns, Religious liberty; an end to Obozocare by SCOTUS ruling if necessary; Marriage of the normal kind, hostile to envirowhackos, will enforce civil liberties of ordinary Americans, will begin gradual enforcement of Amendment 10. Fill in other priorities.
Scalia, Thomas and Alito desperately need young, qualified reinforcements to replace Breyer, Ginsburg and maybe there is a crippling scandal in the background of Sotomayor or Kagan that might force a resignation. Try to move Sandra Day O'Kennedy off the court in favor of an actual conservative pro-lifer and Roberts as well. No more divas. Fill the federal trial bench and circuit courts of appeals with folks that might be known as Attila the Judge. There is your farm team or bench for future appointments to SCOTUS and other things.

Assuming that some gang of criminals were to kidnap me and force me to vote at gunpoint....I would think about it for awhile and pick Trump.

Having watched what Rob Ford did to Toronto and how Trump acts in much a similar way (minus the drugs), the GOP would be crazy to nominate Trump.

I would vote for Ted Cruz. He is the best social and constitutional conservative running. For a running mate, I would prefer a capable governor or ex-governor: e.g., Walker, Jindal, Huckabee, Martinez, Haley. It would have to be someone who is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, and pro-religious liberty. And any Supreme Court nominee would have to meet those criteria.
