So long as Jeb has the backing of the RNC and the CofC he is the top candidate. Poll %s are irrelevant. Pew and Reuters cannot manipulate the requirements for the Primaries or the superdelegates at the Convention. The RNC/CofC does.

Sadly, you're probably correct. I have this sinking feeling that no matter what the polls say now, Jeb is going to be the nominee.

God, I hope you and I are wrong ...

They aren’t called “superdelagates” on the GOP side as far as I know but the Party Chairman and RNC Committeeman and Committeewoman from each state/territory are all automatically delegates, some states pledge them, some (most it would seem) don’t.

In 2012 the number of these GOP delegates that were unpledged was 126, 5.5% of the delegate total, insignificant compared to the 19% of democrat delegates that were unpledged superdelegates in 2008.

But good point, Jeb is still dangerous.
