The first Republican primary is months away, but in the race to see which GOP candidate could make the most of the legal battle over a Kentucky clerk's refusal to grant same-sex marriage licenses, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee emerged a winner Tuesday, thanks to the efforts of an aide to block 2016 rival Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) from joining Huckabee at Davis' side.
Both presidential candidates were present at the rally at the jail holding Kim Davis, the Rowan County Clerk. But according to a New York Times report of the day's events, a Huckabee aide physically stood in Cruz's path to Davis' side as she and Huckabee appeared in front of the media after her release from jail:
When Senator Cruz exited the jail a throng of journalists beckoned him toward their microphones, but an aide to Mr. Huckabee blocked the path of Mr. Cruz, who appeared incredulous.
Moments later, Mr. Huckabee appeared, joined by Ms. Davis. He stuck close to her side as she approached the reporters, and again when she took the stage, and cast her fight as a choice of tyranny or religious freedom....

Sorry for the triple post. That’s a first. My computer wasn’t responding. Must restart.
LOL, yes his other initials are DH, if indeed this even happened. Does anyone have it on video?
If this happened, congratulate Huckabee on the win today. As I wrote earlier, Cruz cannot catch a break. Tomorrow likely to be more of the same if he is challenged on why he voted to allow Obama approval of just 34 senate vote. Cruzs bad moves and ineptness (which he is not known for) is very surprising.
Never mind about why Ted Cruz was there. He has a very long history of fighting for conservatives, Christians and conservative causes, including inviting them bakers who have been targeted by the gay Gestapo, to his evangelical rally.
Real question is, why are YOU here in the first place?
Good chuckle. Thanks Leni!
Me neither. I’m pretty sure usconservative needs to have his meds adjusted.
That was my thought exactly. No politician should tempt people like that.
According to a New York Times report...”
Since when are they a reliable source?

You responded to my post (#4 above) which makes absolutely no reference to the New York Times. Perhaps you meant your strange comment to be directed elsewhere where perhaps it would have been in context?
Ohhh bull crap, and hush up.
The same old broken record rhetoric, and it isn’t helping your candidate either.
Cruz invited every one.
Martins comments echo those of Cruz last Friday, who said the other candidates were absolutely welcome to attend when asked by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin if there was an open invitation.
Riiiiight, and if Ted Cruz didn’t speak out on Kim David’s behalf and come to visit her he would have crucified by the same bunch who are being critical of him using her as a photo op.
Ted Cruz can’t get no respect from the Cruz haters, damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t.
Well, could it be that he is about the only one with the guts to stick his neck out and stand for religious liberty ?
Would somebody let me know when the Huckster has gone away for good?
Perhaps the appearance of Huckabee, Cruz and a throng of supporters motivated the judge to release her from jail. Ever think of that? Perhaps privately wasn’t the only way to help her.
Mike Huckabee is not presidential material.
Acting petty as Obama.
Do you think Trump would have taken a poke at the guy and been arrested for assault? The video of that would be shown again and again to demonstrate how unstable the man was and unsuitable to be POTUS.
Wonder if Huckabee is going to try and crash the Cruz/Trump/Palin/Levin/Beck event tomorrow?
Exactly ..!!!!
How could it be on video .. Cruz wasn’t allowed to be near the reporters.
Such juvenile idiots.
I’m not sure who I support but you do have a point there.
