The Trump surge shows no sign of abating
Donald Trump continues to lead the Republican primary field for the 2016 presidential nomination just days before the leading candidates debate for the first time, according to results from a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released on Sunday.
The poll found that Trump was the first choice for 19% of Republican primary voters, surging ahead of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker with 15% and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush with 14%. Trumps lead, according to the Journal, is a significant jump from the previous WSJ/NBC poll conducted in June, when only 1% of surveyed Republicans had picked him as their first choice a triumph many have attributed to the buzz surrounding Trumps flurry of controversies.
Only the 10 candidates with the highest averages across the last five national polls will be eligible to participate on Thursdays inaugural GOP debate on Fox News. Although the precise averaging method is not yet known, NBC estimated that the top ten candidates as of Sunday in addition to Trump, Walker and Bush are Sen. Rand Paul, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, Sen. Marco Rubio, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. Ted Cruz, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Ohio Gov. John Kasich....

Personally, I would LOVE the Trump/Cruz ticket!!!
Why even bother to vote GOP, They don’t do a thing when they get elected. Trump speaks the Truth!
I’ve already decided ...........Trump! Period.
The GOP debate is all “Poppy-Cock”.
You know, I’m wondering if a lot of people have already made their choice for President too. These debates aren’t really for debating - they have all done this in the media anyway. It’s a way to corral the candidates and feed them “gotcha” questions, and then have the media pundits play and replay all the sound bites they get from the debates, so they can help or hurt the candidates.
RED STATE in Atlanta is the next 2 days after this first two tier debate. At RED STATE we will see who is voted off the Island.
Santorum is so far behind Huckabee and appealing to the same money and voters that he should fold quickly. No doubt his staffers don’t want to end that gravy train. So they will try to convince him of fairy tales.
There is no way Cristie will catch Kasich as the bench for the establishment. Cristie should quit before he becomes a bigger joke than he already is.
Maybe others see it. But I see no combination of circumstances under which Perry can do any better than he is right now. Regardless of who drops out, those supporters are not going to Perry.
It is good that many start the race. But by Iowa, the field should be narrowed. Any wannabe who obviously has no conceivable path to win the nomination and does not see it, that wannabe lacks the brains to be president.
Christie is not long away from the head of the Republican Governors Association, where he raised a lot of money for, and collected IOUs from other Republican office holders. If the GOP-E needs a backup candidate, don’t be surprised if Christie is it.
Perry lost me playing Trump’s daddy. Had me puking. Was on my maybe list behind Cruz then.
Interesting:
“The WSJ/NBC poll, whose full results will be released on Monday, was conducted between July 26 and July 30. The margin of error for 252 surveyed GOP primary voters is ±6.17%.”
So why did they choose such a small sample with such a large margin of error?
Did they poll 500 people (which would be normal,) and throw out half a poll to make it seem that the race is closer than it is?
More manipulation of facts.

Here is what nearly all other national polls seem to suggest...
