Yep. I was completely demoralized about the 2008 election until Sarah showed up. I went to the polls because of her - not McLame.

Exactly. McCain denied himself the victory when
1) He inexplicably suspended his campaign to go sit in on the financial crisis meeting;
2) Openly praised Obama during the debates, saying the country “need not fear his presidency;
3) Refused to confront Obama on his ties to terrorists;
4) Muzzled Palin and refused to let her play her traditional running-mate role as campaign “attack dog;” and
5) Accepted $85 million in federal campaign funding (and all its limitations), while Obama broke the federal campaign funding agreement, proceeded to run up $300 million in fundraising and literally swamped a depleted McCain with massive ad buys in the waning days of the campaign.

Oh, yeah... and the imagery of an old, tire, debilitated, handicapped man juxtaposed with Obama’s youth and energy was a huge disadvantage, too.
