You are correct. The RNC is counting on us splitting our votes up so they can nominate another designated loser like the last two elections.

Senator is not running as president of FR. He is running a national campaign. What would be smart for conservative republicans to do is to unite behind one candidate before it is too late. That candidate should be whoever is ahead in delegate counts mid-way through primaries.

I have been harping on this point for months. Only way Jeb Bush wins is if multitude of more conservatives keep splitting the votes. In 2012, Romney could’nt get over 30% in the initial primaries. But he won nomination by splitting Newt, Santorum, Cain, Bachmann votes.

Too early to reach that conclusion. Senator Cruz is not topping all the polls, yet. Actually he is topping almost no polls so far. But that could change after the debates. Can we at least wait until the 1st debate is over before casting our preference in concrete?
