On what grounds did the USSC declare this?
I mean, we're talking about an organization that said it was fine to imagine tax-revenue, use that as basis for eminent domain, and use that to turn over said land to a private development company for a private facility. So, even if they assert it, it's certainly subject to scrutiny.

In the case of Mr. Cruz, he cannot claim the sort of anchor-baby citizenship* that the invaders can, by accident of location of his birth, and his father was not a US citizen — I think he's a good statesman, but I'm not willing to weaken/disregard the Constitution because it suits my whims. The Constitution must be respected, especially when it is inconvenient, elsewise it means nothing.

* -- I believe this form of naturalization at/by birth is purposely portrayed as natural born.
** -- I also believe the Obama/McCain 2008 election was a set-up to ensure precedent which would weaken the NBC requirement.
