Sen. Ted Cruzs piece in Politico Magazine on Wednesday has drawn a lot of attention, not all of it kind.
In the piece, the Texas Senator charges that President Obamas impending executive action on immigration is lawless and that if he makes the move, he will be acting as a monarch. Since his election in 2012, Cruz has vocally opposed comprehensive immigration reform.
A fellow Republican in the Texas congressional delegation said that Cruzs energetic opposition to comprehensive immigration reform doesnt adequately represent his constituents.
I dont think its reflective of Texas as a whole, said Rep. Gene Green, chuckling. I think its reflective of the Republican primary.(continued)

“Geez. Betsy Woodruff went to Hillsdale. This can’t be the same Betsy Woodruff can it?”
Either it’s a different Betsy or she needs to cut down on her partying.
One in the same, from the photos I saw.
I thought Green was a DemocRAT. Who “rebranded” his @$$?
Slate.
Hey Gene Green, did you see the last election where some of the most anti-illegal candidates, Dan Patrick & others, got a majority of the Hispanic male vote??
Uh, Gene. He was ELECTED by a pretty good margin by the entire state. Pretty sure he is IN FACT speaking for the state as a whole.
He’s a Democrat.
Wonder if she’s Judy Woodruffs daughter!?
Gene Green is a yellow dog Democrat...and always has been. From the Houston area.
As if that doesn't really make a difference...
Gene Green is a democrat with an IQ that is only about 2 points higher than Sheila Jackson Lee’s.
He is .
DESTROY RINOS
Gene Green is a democrat. Always has been, always will be.
Green is a DEMOCRAT, damn it!!! Slate BLEW IT, and has now corrected themselves.
I don’t think it was intentional, though. Green is actually a REALLY GOOD GUY, so they probably figured he was a Republican. He was (and remains) the representative of a district drawn to be represented by a Hispanic...except that Hispanics here in Texas are not so RADICALIZED as to think they can only be represented by someone that doesn’t speak English.
The reason that I say he’s a good guy is that he was close back around 15 years ago when a guy started shooting at people in Tom Delay’s office because he differed with Delay politically. Rather than blaming Delay for driving him to violence Green said something to the effect that “we’re all Texans here, and a person shooting at Delay is no different than that same person shooting at me”. Very classy thing to say, at a very stressful time. I’ll always appreciate that.
Slate had to change their false headline - he’s a democrapper - THIS is what the opposition media does - it falsifies news 100% of the time. They are getting desperate. Expect MUCH worse false reporting to destroy resolve and create infighting. Keep your brains clear of this mischief!
Greene isn’t worth a bucket of warm spit.
I'm guessing he lost your vote?
They saw Rep. Green, and thought it was Republican Green?
