When the history of US politics in the early 21st century is written, two figures will stand out: Barack Obama and Sarah Palin.
The election of Mr. Obama to the highest elective office the first African-American to win the presidency did not necessarily signal a new era of post-racial politics. But coming just a generation after federal troops in the South (and a federal judge in Boston) were necessary to desegregate public schools, it was a huge milestone.
Sarah Palin was not the first woman to win a major political partys vice presidential nomination; that was US Rep. Geraldine Ferraro, Walter Mondales running mate way back in 1984.
But the presence of the former Alaska governor on the GOP ticket headed by Sen. John McCain in 2008 invigorated the party at the time, at least. And although they lost to Obama and Joe Biden, it wasnt the blowout that Mondale and Ferraro suffered against Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush.
Ferraro went on to relative political obscurity, twice losing Democratic Party primaries for the US Senate. Ms. Palin, on the other hand, was just getting started when the returns for the 2008 presidential race were being counted.
Over the next few years, she became a political force of nature stirring a tea party base that thronged to her appearances, scaring GOP incumbents deemed too willing to find common ground with Democrats, and building a very lucrative business that included (for one season, at least) her own reality TV show while launching one of her five children daughter Bristol on her own entertainment career.
Meanwhile, as with some other conservative ex-elected officials like Mike Huckabee, Palin was given a sinecure of sorts as a commentator for Fox News...

You are so wrong. I’ll leave you to open your mouth so others who have wisdom can laugh; at least, then, you will be good for something.
There was a reason you had a name change - so others won't know your past comments.
You are so very wrong, it’s not really that funny after all.
I wasn’t surprised by Gov. Palin leaving FOX. It was reported about six months ago they were having trouble negotiating a contract.

You think they are any different? Neither are conservative because they are ALL MORE interested in the 'career' than America.
If Sarah ever said that she's a 'feminist', then she's talking about the real deal (which she is). Lib women talk the talk, while Sarah walks the walk.
And don't artificially inflate her alleged support of Juan McCain. She would have been (rightfully) viewed as an ungrateful wretch for the rest of her life if she hadn't endorsed him for his last Senate run. She's paid in full now, and doesn't owe that man the time of day.
That's your opinion and I read 'your opinion' that you posed as 'fact' and your 'speed dial' comment. That said it all. That's YOUR fear, not Sarah's. So you saying I'm wrong, puts me on the right side by default as #2 and because of truth as #1.
That makes no sense whatsoever.
Women can’t stand to see another woman who is not of their ‘flock’ succeed. Sarah will always stand out as a lady who fights tooth and nail for the good of our country. She hasn’t changed her beliefs from the first day she showed up on the stage. She has not cowered in the face of a full front media onslaught. She is still that fighter that the GOP men are not. And getting stronger.
Oh, the story's relevant alright, except to liberals and GOP-e bots, who all wish that Palin was irrelevant.
She's anything but.
Show me when/where I said or implied I was startled. You can't. So this is the best 'non answer' you can come up. Don't try to 'protect' a POS and then you won't be so WEAK in answering.
Which is why they continue to be liberals, even though everything they do, backfires or fails.
I could call it denial, but it's possibly even worse than that. I don't think they even notice when they fail. In the rare instance when they do notice one of their failures, it's because 'we didn't spend enough money to fix it' (see: Paul Krugman).
And the main stream media had a field day!!
Posting YOUR thoughts and YOUR fears for SARAH’S situation is what doesn’t make sense. It’s just gossip - and gossip has an agenda.
What clip do you mean?
Please post it.
Thanks
Not when she said she could see Russia from her house or when she had Gabby Giffords shot? Or how about the time she faked having a Down’s syndrome baby or went all racial on Black Jesus?
IMO, your jump the shark moment came at 11:03:58 tonight
Feminism by grounding itself in the philosophy of Hegel and Marx, is condemning women to a new servitude: slavery to the state.

It was not a debate and it wasn’t a memory jogger! It was meant to be funny to conservatives - so since you didn’t ‘get it’ tells the story. She doesn’t need notes OR teleprompter and that was the story before she was giving that speech. And the media didn’t have a field day w/it - anything SARAH did they played up except HER RECORD and accomplishments. However, you certainly where taken in by them on their ‘field day’, I see.
