Christie praised the G.I. bill and Ann praised free scholarships for a quarter of high school students. So they have the meme of getting your college education paid for by someone else in common.
The GI bill was paid for with blood and limbs.
The Scholarship program is just that AN earned program for the top 25% of high school graduates in the state, regardless of economic circumstances. Educating the brightest IS A GOOD IDEA.
What a cheap shot.
Those were insignificant parts of both speeches, certainly not “Praise”, and I guess if you’ve got a problem with providing educational benefits for veterans who served their country under the GI Bill, then you and I don’t have much to talk about.
Anyone with ears would have heard very STRONG messages from both about the importance of self-sufficiency and getting the government out of the way of business and free enterprise.
What kind of ASS thinks of the GI bill as paid for by someone else? Every GI who served damned well deserves his/her educational benefits.
I earned my GI Bill with my service. It wasn’t given to me.
I used it after giving 4 years to the Marine Corps. We don’t owe you shit.
The John and Abigail Adams scholarships are actually a 1 or 2 K per annum incentive to pass the MCAS test as a sophomore in public HS, it only counts for UMASS/ State Schools or CC’s.
I only know this from going to Orientation at UMASS.
My son is inelligible as he went to parochial school through grade 11 and had to pass the MCAS as a Senior to graduate from a MA Public School.
What a joke.
He beat the crap out of the test.
We don’t qualify because he HAD to take it in order to graduate in Grade 12.
Three days of missed classses.
You make your choices and take your place.
I will not mock Mitt for this one even though it was a pain in the Ass, these kids are not brain dead . Teachers suck though.
He got his first “D” in English from a 2 named Bitch who failed all of the Conservative LAX players.
Teacher’s Unions should be dismantled...period.
The G.I. Bill is not a giveaway program, you earn that money and also pay in a portion of it, unless you’re a service-connected disabled/wounded veteran, then it is totally “free” (if you consider losing a limb or eyesight no big deal) and I didn’t hear what Mrs. Romney proposed, so I’ll withhold judgement on that.
Sorry, FRiend. We disagree on that one. The G.I. Bill was the absolute least we could do to repay the blood and sacrifice made by those who defended freedom in our stead.
