It seems he (Romney) hasn't figured out that as long as Barack Obama is president, his base will be fired up in spite of his dull personality, so what he doesn't need to do is waste this pick on a running mate Republicans will like.
What he needs is someone who can attract voters on the fence.
A media darling with a successful track record to point to and someone whose social politics won't immediately get them labeled by independents as "crazy."
Enter Michael Bloomberg: that union-fighting/gay-couple-loving renegade who would make things complicated for Democrats because he's managed to get elected three times in the most diverse region in the country while being a rich, old white guy.
Four years ago, Sen. John McCain selected a game changer who turned out to be better in theory than in practice. Like Sarah Palin, Bloomberg would be a curve ball. But while she got people talking, the New York mayor would get people talking and thinking.
How?
By being something many of the other VP options are not: a real Republican. An old school Republican.

BA HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH!!
CNN trying to assist Biden I guess.
Yes, when I want political advice, the first thing I turn to is CNN.
That’s hilarious. Our Rat governor ANDREW CUOMO acts less liberal
advice from CNN of what they hope he does, or is it reverse psychology stating what they hope he doesn’t do?
I’m really reluctant to take seriously anything CNN says about who Romney should pick as VP.
My choices (in any order) are: Sen. Jim DeMint (SC), Gov. Bob McDonnell (Va) or Gov Susanna Martinez (NM).
Each has appeal.
DeMint’s conservative credentials are impeccable and the media wiill have a hard time finding anything bad about him.
Romney must have Virginia in order to win the White House. Likwise, McDonnell has governed like a conservative.
Martinez appeals to some Hispanics and women, two groups that the Romney needs to do better with. Her conservative credentials are good as well.
I would love to see Bolton run with him. Can you imagine Bolton kicking Biden’s arse in a debate?
Paul Ryan will attract voters of varied interests, all the way from those who seek a SERIOUS passion for fixing our budget woes to those disgruntled Obama supporters who vote for the nicest eyes and best hair. Hey, we'll take what we can get, right? LOL
“Enter Michael Bloomberg: that union-fighting/gay-couple-loving renegade who would make things complicated for Democrats because he’s managed to get elected three times in the most diverse region in the country while being a rich, old white guy. “
Bloomberg??? Wait, lemme check for the “satire” tag.
Oh, please... if Romney wants someone who’ll make things complicated for Democrats he’d bring aboard Rep. Allen West or Gov. Susana Martinez.
Bolton is great on foreign policy matters... there'd be none better as SecState, IMO. However, his social views are a bit suspect, as he backed the repeal of DADT.
Can you imagine Biden in a debate against Paul Ryan...old geezer who can’t get his facts straight against a young, reserved and intelligent accounting wiz?
Romney is live on Politico right now at a town hall.. Best video feed I could find. Others didn’t work. So far so good.. He mentioned Rubio and I’m thinking the VP’s gonna be Rubio. Could be worse, I suppose. Great town hall so far.. He actually mentions our Forefathers, our Creator, SCOTUS abiding by the Constitution. All good words, let’s hope we can see some action and turn this ship around!
They don’t call it Communist News Network without a reason.
