Sarah Palin mocks Obama on drug use, dogs
The Politico ^ | June 16, 2012 | Tim Mak

Posted on 06/16/2012 6:47:20 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

LAS VEGAS – Sarah Palin ridiculed President Barack Obama at a conservative bloggers conference Friday for his “cocaine snorting” and eating dog as a child.

“That cocaine snorting, and what he ate — Fido? Rufus?” the former Alaska governor said, alluding to Obama’s memoir, “Dreams From My Father,” in which he admits both to cocaine use and being served dog by his stepfather in Indonesia. “I think it’s funny that the cocktail circuit gives me a hard time for eating elk and moose. Anybody here have a pet moose? There’s a difference.”

It was part of a 30-minute speech at the RightOnline conference, in which she criticized the “permanent political class” and the “lamestream media” while applauding conservative bloggers for doing “what too many people in the old media won’t do, can’t do, and that’s tell the truth.”

“The role of new media is more fundamental than just a force for organizing,” Palin told hundreds of bloggers in a conference room at conservative donor Sheldon Adelson’s Venetian hotel. “New media has become a force for activism and information. You do what too many people in the old media won’t do, can’t do, and that’s tell the truth.”

Palin also got a little cheeky, making a pun about polls and poles in Vegas.

“Here we are in Vegas — in Washington, too — they talk a lot about polls. There are a lot of poles in Vegas,” said Palin, referring to strip club poles before addressing the president’s poll numbers. “There is a reason that the figures in those polls are augmented too.” The pun inspired cheers and laughter from the crowd...

Nice of you to ignore my previous point that convincing people not to support the Republican at the top of the Ticket will damage other Republicans down Ticket. If the down Ticket Republican Candidates don't get the Votes, we are back to Obama, Pelosi and Reid running the whole Enchilada. The SCOTUS will be unrecognizable by 2016.

It's all rhetoric my FRiend. If it wasn't, Republicans would have come to their senses in the Primaries and Voted Conservative. They didn't so here we are, one Democrat Marxist versus one Republican RINO.

One short year ago I envisioned Palin, six months later I envisioned Gingrich. Now I just pray we get rid of Pharaoh Obama.

I am not changing your viewpoint and you sure as heck aren't changing mine, so have a wonderful evening my FRiend.

The error is in thinking Romney would appoint conservatives to the Supreme Court. His record clearly indicates the opposite.

I pray you are correct my FRiend.

I am growing weary. The Electorate will decide. We here are preaching to a divided Choir in a Church full of empty Pews.

I will vote, and will urge others to vote, FOR CONSERVATIVES DOWN TICKET. Voting is a duty; not to vote is a dereliction of duty, and I will urge all conservatives to get out and VOTE.

By withholidng my vote from anti-conservative Romney at the top of the ticket and giving it to a third party, knowing that I forfeit any voice in whether Obama or Romney wins but ALSO knowing that if we third party voters are able to split the vote enough that the "winner" gets in on such a plurality that two of every three Americans voted AGAINST him, will help Republicans down-ticket regardless of whether Obama or Romney wins.

We already have first hand knowledge of who Obama will Appoint to the SCOTUS.

If you are saying Romney's picks would be worse than Obama’s, I have absolutely nothing else to say to you.

Have a nice evening.

Too long; didn’t read.

Unless you can name a more viable candidate than the (unfortunate) GOP candidate, then you have nothing to offer and your opinion can be safely ignored.

Also, personally, I’m not voting for national preacher. I’m voting to get rid of Obama. I don’t need a dubious, lame attempt at a sermon from some poseur who fancies himself a preacher. You aren’t selling that very well either. Please pester someone who cares to hear your opinion. I don’t

Your last paragraph makes my head hurt.

Good luck with that Premise.
I think further discussion between us is pointless.
Have a nice evening.

Fumblefingers (that would be I) managed to wipe out a longer and probably better post. Here's the short form as a substitute.

If Romney Cheerleader produces no self-recognition, then how about Romney pimp???? We used to have numerous Romney enthusiasts on FR but management's righteous lightning zapped down from the sky and ZOT! they were gone and are no longer among us.

Then Myth, the leftist pig in the elephant suit bought, bullied and lied his way to the GOP nomination and that MAY have bought him and his enthusiasts in denial unwarranted respite here until November. No one REALLY likes Myth or even has any use for him but, gosh, he is not Obozo and that justifies supporting such a leftist pig as Romney.

Reality IS a bitch and hopefully the election results will illustrate that for you and other friends of Myth once and for all and we will NEVER have this fiasco repeated. The GOP is now occupied territory but, hey, what do you and those like you care so long as it is only occupied by Obozo think-alikes and not Obozo himself. On issues that matter (NOT Muffy's trust fund), there is no meaningful difference. Romney is understandably (given his and his father's track records) not eager to give us specifics as to ANYTHING in policy. Nixon's secret plan for Vietnam seems to be the model. Romney has secret plans for everything and, given his track record, understandably so. As Nancy Pelosi might say, you have to elect Myth to see what his plans are.

I am not trying to influence your vote or that of anyone else pimping Romney. I just want you and them out there fully admitting your and their perfidy and trying to justify it. I make good popcorn and its just yummy with lots of butter as I witness the delusional farce of people hallucinating that there is a GOP nominee.

GOP voters did not "pick" Romney. He used corrupt Wall Street anonymous mountains of money (obtained by Lucifer only knows what promises) to bully and buy his way to primary victories by relentless lies, slanders and libels against every decent GOP candidate. Not ONE positive word about himself or his policy plans. You want to reward that??? I don't and I won't.

The Roman Catholic Church to which I belong describes material cooperation with abortion (even one abortion much less the 55 million or so to date under"color of law") results in automatic (latae sententiae) excommunication from the Church. My soul is not for sale. I would not sell it for Ronald Reagan and Myth Romney is NO Ronald Reagan. Then there is the little matter of Myth persecuting my Church and every other pro-life church by requiring them to fund abortion, IUDs, and other mortal sins. OK, Catholic Bishops (and other leaders of other pro-life churches), what will it be. Life in jail or eternal life in hell??? Swell candidate you have there. On this issue, he and Obozo are twins and Obozo may be a smidgeon better not that it matters.

Romney = Obozo = Moloch = Obozo = Romney, etc. They have he same mission except as to Muffy's trust fund.

I will certainly do what I want. I want Obozo out. I want Romney NOT EVER to be in. One will blessedly be defeated in November. That will be the first national progress of 2012. Then we can all (to the extent that there is a we) concentrate on politically destroying the survivor. One way or another I get to celebrate that half of the job is done on election day. How about you? Obozo is easier to destroy because the GOP will be united against him. The usual gang of "GOP" quislings would rubber stamp Romney's policies if he proposed death camps or if he "reached across the aisle" and named Harry Reid to SCOTUS. If Pelosi is a lawyer, please don't tell Myth.

You can vote third party for POTUS or not for any candidate for POTUS and still vote (as allowed by law) for any candidate of your choice for other offices. BTW, decimate was the disciplinary practice of the Roman legions in their salad days of killing one out of every ten surviving soldiers at random after a defeat. If I can name the GOP-E soldiers to be decimated, hey, it sounds like a plan: Lindsay Graham, Susan Collins, Bob Corker, Lamar!!! Alexander, John Cornyn, Saxby Chambliss, John Isakson, Mark Nancyboy Kirk, Mitch McConnell, Eric Cantor, John Boehner, Kevin McCarthy, etc., just for starters.

Dubya is a genuine Christian who needed no influence to oppose baby-killing and rump-ranging. On foreign policy, he was a man's man who refuse to employ his Daddy's circle of foreign policy quislings except perhaps Colin Powell who left on his own to Bush's great relief.

If you influenced Dubya not to approve TARP, we did not notice any results reflecting that. Likewise, No Child Left Behind. He named John Roberts as Chief Justice and Sam Alito to SCOTUS after that hiccup with Harriet Miers. Dubya is averse to controversy. He pulled Miers. Don't expect to get that lucky when Myth as POTUS names a Swish Souter behave alike.

You did not influence Dubya and you certainly won't influence Myth, the GOP antichrist. (That is not a crack about Mormonism whose adherents I generally respect as pro-life and pro-family. Too bad Myth is not a better Mormon).

In their combined fifty years in public life, name three things that George or Myth Romney EVER did FOR conservatism. Crickets!!!

Romney AND Obozo have THE SAME MISSION IN LIFE. Que sera, sera! Whatever will be will be. RESIST to their faces!

I and others here believe we have a chance of influencing a RINO Republican President as we did with Bush. Not all the time, but a chance none the less.

Good grief. Sounds like Hope & Change to me.

1) Bush gave the liberals nearly everything they wanted, as president.
2) He DIDN'T have a prior record as Governor that was more liberal than most Democrats.

Mitt's record proves beyond question where his real loyalties lie, and they're NOT with you or I. He comes to this thing as a virtual Democrat, and you expect him to be swayed by the right? Hope & Change, baby.

Hatch’s opponent is not “an insurgent conservative.”

Please do a lick of research.

Dan Lillyputian (or however you spell his name) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitt Romney, Inc. They go waaaaaaaayyyyyy back.

He even worked at Bain.

So if you believe in what Mitt Romney stands for and want another Romney “Yes boy” in the U.S. Senate, by all means promote Dan Lillyputian.

But be warned, he is as severely conservative as his patron, Mitt Romney.

I hope Sarah goes on the trail for Romney also.

She would be a great asset to him.

But has she even endorsed him yet?

She has a bad habit of holding out... she held out hopes way too long that she would run for the nomination.

Too many people were so invested in this that they were in a state of shock and did some stupid things, like flock to Herman Cain. If we’d flocked to a viable candidate like Perry...

But I’m liking Romney a lot more now and it’s time for Sarah to get behind him.

You are right and posting the same old lists and charts over and over will not change that.

It’s Romney or Obama.

The choice is obvious, at least to me.

One ... I love your tagline, makes me laugh every time I see it.

Two. Sarah will endorse Mitt Romney. She will hold out as long as possible like she did about the campaign for the nomination.

Three. I’ll be interested to see how her admirers here like her then. Very interested.

Shakespeare was mentioned earlier. One of the saddest lines is in Hamlet. “I did love thee once.”

That’s the way I feel about Sarah now.

Let's cut to the chase shall we?

The Republican is Romney, the Democrat is Obama.

Choose one, because only one of those two people will win.

What's the old saying, sh*t or get off the pot?

Newt would be eviscerating Obama right now if he was the Nominee, but sadly he isn't. You grow up and play the cards you are dealt.

Don't Vote for the Republican and give Obama a free ride back into the White House if that's what you want to do. None of us Voted for Romney in the Primaries, but plenty of other Republicans did.

Getting pissed off at me or others here because we see only two viable alternatives accomplishes nothing. The Primary Elections made the choice for us. We all had our chance to sell our Candidates of choice to the Republican Electorate and we obviously failed.

Preaching to the Choir in a Church full of empty pews didn't work out too well, did it?

Glad my Tagline gives you a laugh. I actually had Jim ban one of my Taglines way back when. I take it as a compliment.

I know how you feel. I think that if Sarah ended up endorsing Romney, it would be more to do with facing the reality that the only other choice is Obama.

If Romney wins, I have no doubt that Sarah would keep up the pressure. She would not hold back on criticizing Policy decisions simply because the President happens to be a Republican. She has gone after the Republican House and I think she would actually be emboldened because her words would actually influence decision making, rather than being ignored by the Democrats in power.

We will see soon enough. I never wanted time to pass as quickly as I do right now. November can't get here fast enough for me. I am weary and it's only June.

In previous elections, your assertion is probably correct. This year, there’s the potential that it will be different. Enthusiasm for the down-ticket can benefit Romney. If people go to the polls to support their chosen candidate for Senate/House, most will also cast a ballot for POTUS.

As is their usual reaction and reportage on anything Palin says or writes, they missed the message.

Palin’s comments regarding Obama were all in the context of the old media/new media paradigm. Her comments about Obama were precisely about old media’s failure to vet him.

She also sent a clear message to the GOPe when she said,

“Sometimes you gotta rage against the machine ... to hold them accountable ... Whatever the outcome is in November, please do not get co-opted by the permanent political class. Granted you will not make many friends in the Beltway or in Hollywood ... or in HBO ... you won’t be one of the cool kids ... doggone it ... aww ... sometimes you’ll find yourself under the bus ... but you need to stay outside of the machines ... sometimes you gotta rage against it ... stay outside of the political establishments in order to hold them accountable ... don’t spin the GOP failures the same way the left does for President Obama ...”

Of course, the minions of the GOPe paid more attention to her shoes than they did to her message.

“..I hope Sarah goes on the trail for Romney also.

::::::::::::::::::::

Yes, and it is refreshing to hear from someone who is facing the prime problem and not their hate for Romney’s liberal facets.

The only thing I can see that Sarah would have been “holding out” for would have been the support of the Republican establishment which did not, and does not, support her. She took a lot of crap from them when she was trying to help McLame run a campaign. She was doing all the fighting and rallying, while McLame was pandering and being Mr. Niceguy and got his ass kicked by the horror story in the Oval Office. I certainly cannot fault her for not running — she never said she would run, and did not. Her call, obviously.

Priority one in this election remains clear. Sarah is working with the new media, and other forces, that treated her with respect and asked for her help. I think she will contribute significantly to getting Obama voted out. What she does relative to any endorsement of Romney is her call. Hard to say.

Keep the faith.
