They're doing EVERYTHING they can to ignore the 440lb female Ursus arctos horribilis in the room, aren't they?

Daniels is the best that DeMint can come up with? Sounds like he’s been talking to some GOP-E types behind closed-doors in the Senate.

It also shows you how determined the inner circles of the GOP are.....Palin ain’t gonna happen. One of the 4 remaining candidates will be the nominee.

I think Jim DeMint is merely saying that if there were a bc, MD would be the best choice.

I don’t think there will a bc. I think the candidates will be chosen like the last Democrat one was—with a hard fought primary contest.

The top 2 may end up being on the ticket together.

DeMint has been solidly in the tank for Milt. He has all but endorsed him this cycle. I can see why he would what to run out and push another milquetoast stooge like Daniels. How in the world does DeMint think that this OMB hack, cuckold would be able to "get it done"? Did Jim have a talk with Mitch's wife?

The pipe dream of a brokered convention is what it is a, pipe dream.

IMO I think that the establishment ‘Pubbies are floating a lot of trial balloons like Jeb and Mitch Daniels to see if any of them strike a chord with the base.

As long as the establishment ‘Pubbies are calling the shots, we will likely remain a broadly splintered party of moderates (Romney McCainiacs) and Tea Party conservatives.

The convention could be the public unveiling of how splintered the party is.

Okay, reading comprehension time.

DeMint said: ““He’s the only one who could make it happen,” DeMint said, according to a report published by the Augusta Chronicle, a local paper. “But I don’t think his wife will let it happen.”

Okay, go back and slowly read that. Did you get the actual meaning/interpretation?

He didn’t say Mitch Daniels was the only candidate that could win a brokered convention. “make it happen” and “only one” implies that if a brokered convention resulted and Daniels wanted to be apart of the discussion, it would be up to him to decide at that point whether or not he would involve himself in the race or not. You can clearly see this is the context of the message based on the next sentence about his wife.

CONTEXT: Without it, things just don’t make sense.

I like Mitch Daniels. He has been a good governor. Compare his state to mine and you’ll see what I mean. He’s zero on the charisma scale, but he would be a competent president. He would never have a way of getting to the White House, since he’s not up to the show-business event that presidential campaigns have become. My ideal candidate used to be George C. Scott. He could electrify the air with charisma, and man could he perform!

Mitch “CRINO” Daniels being pimped by DeMint, the 2008 head Rombot could be seen a mile away.

The two names mentioned here — Christie and Daniels — are hardly improvements over the current field.

Maybe they should just ask Daniels’ wife. Maybe she could be the nominee. [/s]

DeMint has more faith in Daniels than I do . . . after watching the GOP Response to the State of the Union. Just terrible and he was very boring and painful to listen to him AND watch him. Thanks but no thanks.

Go Newt!

You know, if the conservatives have an over abundance of one thing, it is leaders with charisma.

I mean, everyimte I turn on the T.V. or the radio, all I see and hear is our guys hammering away at the communist radicals taking over our country, expounding in no uncertain terms personal responsibility and individual liberty and how the massive federal leviathan must be reigned in!

I think to myself, WOW, I want that guy as president, no wait, I mean that guy! or that other gal who never misses a chance to point out how Obama is purposely driving us over the cliff!

Who are these modern day patriots and heroes you ask!?

NOBODY! NONE! NOT ONE OF THEM!

My God, the GOP sucks.

Here we go again. They desperately want a RINO on the ticket, even if someone else wins the primary.

Conservatives should stay home in November if that happens.

I think Daniel’s drug dealing arrest will be enough to keep him out for good. The way the media and the Dems have been going, having a parking ticket 5 years ago just demolishes a Republican (except Romney).

It also didn’t help that he sold off his toll road to foreign company, and gave it monopoly protection against competition...and the ability to raise tolls without limit. Not too bright...but maybe the first paragraph gives a clue as to his lack of common sense.
