If Sarah is flirting, I was seduced a long time ago! For everyone who doesn't want Romney, this is huge!
It's only in the modern era that Presidential nominations have been locked up before most American voters even tuned in. So this year, for the nation, the Republican Primary is kind of a return to older times, when all Americans counted, not just the few power brokers. The race has been a very rich blue blood from New England ( where he would not carry one state in the general election ) and a group of three, Newt, Rick and Ron scrambling for the 60 plus percent of Republicans who won't be bought!
And now, a new card is thrown into the game, Sarah Palin coming off the bench to be the choice at a divided GOP Convention! And with just a hint, she will stir the pot and drive the media nuts! Hurrah for Sarah.
In one of my most recent columns I told you about a conversation I had with a friend who had attended CPAC. He told me that Sarah had been the closing speaker, and the best. And he said, she had indicated she was not out of the game, and he even predicted she would be the horse to mount for the General election race.
Wow.
That's the only verb that describes this possiblity. Did the Governor from Alaska out fox the pundits, the consultants, and the power elite in the GOP to dance right around all the murderous press that she would have had to endure?
Looks like this lady is not someone to play with.
I have been a Palin supporter from the beginning. For me, she was the choice by lengths. None of the rest of the candidates have her charisma, her grit, her unique character. For America, in this time of crisis and cross roads, there is only one person who can truly change the course of the ship of state! And that's Sarah.
So is this for real?
We can't know. She did not hint towards jumping in now. She hinted that she could be the one to pick in a brokered convention.
But this does provide a ray of hope. It provides one more reason NOT to vote for Romney. But it also provides a reason to go to the polls and vote for anybody other than Romney. It does provide a real reason to be involved. For the grass roots, make your choice from Newt, Rick or Ron but do it and be there on Primary Day. Don't let Romney buy you, or win because of apathy.
America does not have one flat tire. We have four flat tires, a blown engine, no battery, and a leaky gas tank where fuel is running ...and may ignite if it hits something electric or hot.
We need someone with a renewed vision of the old America. Yes, the old America. The one that put a man on the moon. The one that on Decemeber 25, 1991 won the half century Cold War liberating 500 million souls in 13 nations! We need the old America that when I was born was unquestionably the wealthiest, most powerful, most successful nation in the entire world. And we need someone who knows why all that happened.
Sarah proved in Alaska she could be an executive. She went against corruption in her own party...and beat the oil companies at the same time! In her third year as governor her approval ratings in Alaska were over eighty percent!!!! 80 percent!
So... we wait. But now, on the horizon, we see a light. So GOP grass roots, get to the polls, and pick anyone but Mitt!!!

Hayworth is a basket case. - He’s on KSFO opposite Rush every day if you’d like to get inoculated.
LOL, in a sure fire election for the 25 year Senator coming fresh off the Presidential race, you wanted the 2008 Presidential ticket to turn on itself?
That would have dominated the news for the 2010 cycle, it would have destroyed the image of Republicans as rational, would have revealed the 2008 ticket as a cynical, sham, made America breathe a sigh of relief that Obama had won, and would have cost us that 2010 election cycle.
As it was, it was one of our greatest election cycles in history.
You see Sarah’s house? You see Sarah’s reported income since she left the Alaska governor’s mansion...Of course she’s struggling to find change under her couch cushions to tip the Domino’s pizza guy.
I just can’t get excited Palin will be a candidate at a convention....if there will even be one. The press is pushing the brokered story. Further when it looks like it might go to a convention the candidates generally strike a deal to prevent that.
I’m not ready to be baited by articles such as this...I believe Sarah made her choice and I accept that....until and if she states clearly otherwise. Meanwhile Newt’s the man for President IMO and I’ll not be moving from supporting him.....He’s simply the one for the job.
A bird in hand sort of thing even though he’s not quite there yet he is a candidate....Sarah isn’t....but she is doing what I love seeing her do...and for that Go SArah Go!
But in my heart it’s....Go Newt Go!!!!!!! For President...and take Sarah to Washington with ya!!!!!
She endorsed McCain before J.D. even showed up. She did one fundraiser for McCain, who just happened to be the guy that propelled Sarah into the National Political spotlight.
If Sarah had not supported McCain, the press would have eviscerated her for being disloyal.
Oh yeah, one other thing, J.D. ran a terrible Campaign and when his “infomercial” work came to light it was over for him.
There are a thousand old posts on this subject, look them up and entertain yourself for a week or so. Geez....
Newt is on the ballot, Sarah isn’t.
You didn’t seem to know that conservatives were not going to CPAC the last couple of years, now it turns out that you just want to bash our top conservative, why would you want to go on an anti-Palin jihad?
CPAC often falls during her husband’s snowmobile race, I believe. She is not going to be out of AK for that. Feb is a busy month for them, I am surprised that she has been in the lower 48 this long. I suspect that she is heading back in the next couple of days. This year the Iron Dog starts this weekend. Also the David Keene thing.

I will admit that after reading this, I got shivers. May it be so.
Broken threats and promises.
Our loss.
His 2nd opus.
You can't blame him for loving FR and missing it but you'd think that he'd be smart enough to tone it down.
We need a shot of troll-be-gone here.
What kind of goofy post is that?
I am sure not a she, and I have no witnessing to do for you, and I don’t like you posting about me without me being made aware of it.
I hope you haven’t been doing this a lot.
Nooby, editor-surveyor has been here a very, very, long time, you just don’t seem very aware of your surroundings.
I know, huh... Herb Bush, Dole, McCain, Romney... it's not just predictable, it's obvious. They're playing us, with the support of their 5th column cheerleaders, to believe we actually have a choice between their select blue bloods.
I hesitate to post this, because it's from a defunct progressive site, written in 98, back when I first discovered FR... but, even a broken clock - what the hell:
It helps to remember that the Clinton-Bush coziness goes back to the days of Iran-Contra, when Papa Bush was supervising covert arms shipments to Latin America out of Arkansas (with drugs making the return trip) and Governor Clinton was busy looking the other way. Further, as was clear during abortive Republican investigations into various Clinton scandals, in the culture of impunity of Washington, politics stops at corruption's edge. Almost all major corruption is either bipartisan or common enough that one side can effectively blackmail the other.
You sound almost like you work for her or are in the political arena yourself based on the terminology your using if you want to use the rational argument wouldn’t you kinda wanna support the candidates in the other states that stood a better chance of winning like Delaware and Nevada...try she owed Mccain for nominating her and was willing to put her principals aside to pay the old sucker back for the favor
Take a look at what Obama’s done in just three short years. I'm afraid Sarah missed her opportunity. I respect her choice not to run...but she missed her opportunity. The country needed her, and she said no.
I await my castigation.
Whether she runs or not, I’m writing her in. I live in Massachusetts, so my vote doesn’t count.
