Is it time to consider Huntsman?

Are you a Republican looking for a more viable alternative to Mitt Romney? Has the cratering of Rick Perry left you feeling hopeless? Do the scandals afflicting Herman Cain make you think he isn't all that electable? Well, there is still a very electable conservative in the race! Surprise it is Jon Huntsman! He has been branded a moderate by the press and by people in his campaign. But take a look at his record and see if it doesn't warm your heart.

I thought Mitt Romney was the varmint hunter....

I think of Mitt as more of a rodent, but that’s just me.

They were probably little Sanger clones and if interviewed would have shared her views. Don’t you think?

Who do you like? Without Huntsman, it seems like we are quickly running out of options...

So, he’s allergic to science and gay is OK, but other than that he’s a rock-ribbed conservative?

Between AGW and marriage equality is the dismantling of Western Civilization as we currently know it.

“He’s good on taxes”, isn’t going to cut it this time.

“What about pro-life?”

See point 1. Most of Western Civilization isn’t reproducing at the replacement rate, but the Islam is practically mestasasizing at a replacement rate of 5.0. It’s ‘pro-life’ for openers in this game.

Stakes are higher now. No more RINOs.

Hunstman has been the most consistent, articulate, straight forward among all the candidates so far and he has excellent track record to speak off.

Sure he does have some questionable views on Global warming and he did accept Obama’s ambassador to china role, but if you over look that he is actually not that bad of a candidate and in fact suprisingly looks good among the pack.

Yes, he really is.

I still say he was serving his country as Ambassador to China. That’s a heck of a sensitive position. Also, he never supported a Democrat for president, unlike Bachmann (Carter), Perry (Gore), Romney (Tsongas) and now apparently Cain (Clinton).

I’m convinced that only Huntsman can stop Romney in New Hampshire, and time is starting to run out.

This guy worked for Ubama. And the “global warming” scam is a big deal.
And, if I’m not mistaken, he believes tax hikes should be “on the table”.
Huntsman is a non-starter.

I will pass on a guy who launched his campaign standing where Reagan stood and promised to disagree with Obama but be nice.

Yep. I heard that clip on Rush's show, followed by the clip of Reagan absolutely skewering (then President) Jimmah Carter. Huntsman offered a really crappy introduction of himself to the nation. It was eye-rollingly disgraceful. What a milquetoast. Conservatives are looking for a take-no-prisoners fighter. Huntsman ain't it.

He actually took the same position that Paul Ryan has with regards to taxes which is a broad simplification of the tax code while simultaneously closing loop holes and eliminating most deductions. What he said when asked was he would close loop holes if it meant bringing down all rates.

The global warming point is a non-issue if you read his energy plan. It rivals Perry’s for aggressive and free market. And I agree the issue isn’t small but his specific energy plan should put it to rest.

He supports reciprocal beneficiary rights which is essentially what George W Bush supported and is opposed to gay marriage.

Huntsman always says ‘look at my record’. He says this for a reason. It is something that a ‘perfectly lubricated weathervane’ like Mitt Romney cannot do.

Huntsman signed the largest tax cut in Utah history. Doesn’t sound like a person desperate to hike your taxes, to me.

I appreciate your reasoned and civil posts in favor of Governor Huntsman, coffeehays. Although it will make me a very lonely figure indeed on this site, I’ve ‘Joined the Hunt’ and intend to vote for him.

Thanks, Tredegar. I appreciate your support. I’m a very conservative guy and truly think Huntsman would be a terrific candidate.

“Every time I see Huntsman speak publicly, I keep expecting him to break down and finally admit that he’s gay.”

I keep expecting him to break down and start swearing he’s straight!
