Are you a Republican looking for a more viable alternative to Mitt Romney? Has the cratering of Rick Perry left you feeling hopeless? Do the scandals afflicting Herman Cain make you think he isn't all that electable? Well, there is still a very electable conservative in the race! Surprise it is Jon Huntsman! He has been branded a moderate by the press and by people in his campaign. But take a look at his record and see if it doesn't warm your heart.

His numbers are creeping up in the Granite State.

When his numbers creep up in a relevant state; give us a call. NH is just a hodgepodge of delusional circus freaks.

Nothing is more relevant (at the time) than the first in the nation primary. Especially when all your chips are on it.

Nothing would be more devastating to the Romney campaign than an underwhelming showing here. I think Huntsman is the one that cut into his base in New Hampshire.

“Every time I see Huntsman speak publicly, I keep expecting him to break down and finally admit that he’s gay.”

Has Lindsey Graham come out of the closet yet?

Yeah...that's what the New Hampshire media would have the rest of us believe...'look at us...we're somebody'...

Whatever. Open primary = corrupt primary.

"Didn’t he work for Obama?"

He probably still does. Off the books of course.

He worked for his country. Ambassador to China is a sensitive and vital position. With Huntsman’s extensive knowledge of the Far East, Obama probably thought he was being clever. Give a potential rival the post, clear him out of the way as a 2012 obstacle to re-election, AND look bi-partisan in the process. Hasn’t quite worked out that way though!

He was also Ambassador to Singapore under President George H.W. Bush, of course.

‘Huntsman who?’

Jon Huntsman Jr, the one Republican candidate who enthusiastically endorsed the Ryan plan, and the man who has had his economic plan endorsed by The Wall Street Journal.

You might hate him, but surely he is worth a look?

"He worked for his country."

No, he served the usurper. He is a sniveling little quisling. He deserves a quick and speedy trial for treason, followed by some stout rope.

Treason? Okay. Can’t agree with you on that at all. He was the United States Ambassador to China. That’s obviously a deal-breaker with you. Fair enough.

Good luck to your non-treasonous candidate. Just hope you don’t run out of rope.

Makes him a RINO to have accepted an APPOINTED policy position under a Democrat President.

His days as a Republican ended when he did that.

You people keep forgetting that the original RINOs were all Democrats who were not satisfied with working through the Democrat chairs to get to higher office ~ they wanted it now, and you could do that in many places by running as a Republican.

Deals were made.

This more modern use of describing Leftwingtards as RINOs doesn't apply in all cases, or even in very many cases. We used to call them Rockefeller Republicans or Eastern Republicans.

That’s a very good point about Rockefeller Republicans. The term RINO can be lazily thrown around and, as you point out, it is often hurled at the wrong targets.

I honestly think that if the Ambassador to China under a Democratic administration is a deal-breaker for folks on here, then that is fair enough.

I also think, however, that a person’s record should be examined. Although they would probably brandish a similar pro-business approach to Huntsman, would a ‘Rockefeller’ or ‘Eastern’ Republican have such a strong record on Life and the Second Amendment? I’m not sure they would.

Again, it really depends on what issues are deal-breakers for each individual voter.

One thing is certain, we need those ‘Eastern’ and ‘Rockefeller’ types to be voting AGAINST Obama next November. I think we can all agree on that!

No it just pissed me off more at the MSM for such drivel that sop far has no actual merit.

Me too. The utter hypocrisy of the Dims and MSM. They ignored the allogations of RAPE concerning their darling, BC, and will go spastic at the chance to bring up an allegation from the 90's...one that really amounts to nothing.

Besides...they have absolutely NO credibility in teh vetting department...given the great job they did with Obama. I just wish I had the opportunity to tell that to everyone at NBC/CBS/ABC/CNN...to their face. Not that they would care. they would probably wear it as a badge of honor.

Yes...if anything this "scandle" had made me a rock solid supporter. I am so sick of gotcha politics. So to whichever sneaky GOP camp leaked the story: BACKFIRE!

Nothing is more relevant (at the time) than the first in the nation primary. Especially when all your chips are on it.

You want to FIX the GOP...fix THAT!

Fix the fact that NH is a primary with such importance....given a true conservative can't win there. Fix the open primaries. Fix the primary system in general. Let states with proven conservative track records have the first say so real conservatives can build momentum and we can weed out people like McCain and Dole...and Romney.

I find it APPALING that states who rarely vote in strong conservatives have so much say. NH has voted GOP twice in the last six elections and has voted dim the last two for some of the most left leaning people to have ever run. They've lost the right to be first.
