If you are a Palin Patriot what should you do now?

Sarah Palin is a very special American, she appeared to be our next Ronald Reagan, but with her deicsion not to run, what should we do?

Sarah Palin was my hope for America! And while her future was uncertain I was unwilling to listen to the babble of Republican Primary. I was set on Sarah. For me, she was the answer, and I honestly believed I would be able to cast a ballot, whether it be Republican or Independent for Sarah. Sarah seemed to have that rugged American personality which had not been corrupted by special interests and assimilated into the neo conservative view of globalism. Sarah appeared to be an America First candidate, one with an inherent optimism based on what she knew of America and our history.

When I read the headline stating her decision not to run it was like having the wind knocked out of me. My first emotion was disappointment, my second was futility. America is collapsing and it's not just economically. We are not an America of Christian values, our President has denied we are a Christian nation. I said to myself; I will just sit this one out, let America burn in its own selfishness and wait for the only remaining political answer, secession!

And, if Sarah was driven out of the race by the “politics of personal destruction” then we deserve every evil which happen to us.

But then God got into the act. This morning while preparing for Mass I turned on CNN, to see first Herman Cain and then Michelle Bachmann interviewed by a heavy set liberal woman named Candy.

My first impression of the interview questioning was the obvious bias in every word said by Candy. Her point of view had two purposes, one to create tension between the half dozen Republicans running for office and secondly to demean first Herman and then Michelle. No questions were asked which attempted to find out the issues and positions of either candidate. Instead questions were intended to establish false realities, or to minimalize the political potential of either candidate. Candy did her best to walk these two Republican conservatives into discussions which could not help them with the electorate. And in every case the two were smart enough to avoid the purpose of the question. At one point, in obvious frustration, Candy said to one of the candidates, “would you admit you have avoided the question?" The answer given seemed to say; no, I just didn't answer it the way you wanted me to!

This was my first time to listen to either of the candidates for any extended period of time and I was impressed by both of them.

Herman Cain is for real. He has lived, risen in the business community, has life experience and seems to have a solid intellectual and character foundation. And one great advantage for Cain is that he is an African American and can speak to issues of race without having to couch his terms in apologies and understatement. Cain also knows business and knows the American economy cannot be engineered to take off through government projects.

Michelle Bachmann is very sharp in her interview skills and knows her views on governance. She also knows politics. My great worry about Michelle is that Congresspersons normally don't have a large enough electoral base to translate into at least a statewide start. Michelle has an advantage over Herman in that she knows what being elected to office means. She knows the connection between office and constituency and policy. And she has an understanding of legislative politics that only someone serving, or their staffs, can know.

Where Herman and Michelle are equal is that they are both excellent thinkers and speakers and they both seem to have a solid conservative philosophical base.

So this morning when I woke up I was sitting out the GOP primary, and by the time I got into the truck to drive to Mass I was reinvigorated by the choice of these two Americans. Thank you God.

So I support someone... who’s ‘fine’... and that’s a... problem? Why are you here?

Newt’s far and away the smartest and most capable of the bunch. I’m as anti AGW crap as the next guy and was very disappointed. But I’ll forgive him that one apostacy in return for the intellectual firepower he brings. I’d LOVE to see him debating Filth!

It’s a bit like being a Detroit Tigers fan.

If after so much disappointment for so many years, finally this year the team rolls to the championship. A winning team unlike any in recent history.

Fans have reserved their world series tickets.

And the Tigers announce they decided not to play.

Yep. Look at his legislative record, and all the executive decisions he’s made in his political career.

Oh, wait.

C’mon. Cain can be everything to everyone because he has NO RECORD. If that appeals to you, fine.

“You don’t get elected Governor of the most conservative state in the union three times if you’re not doing a good job. Perry has a solid conservative executive governing record for the last 11 years. “

You mean the most conservative state that gave us George W Bush and his Father George H W Bush?

Oh and earlier in the last century the state that gave us LBJ, probably one of the most destructive presidents this country has seen.

Seems like they may have a problem distinguishing an establishment/rino republican from REAL conservatives.

Good answer — not because you picked Perry, but because you demonstrated that whatever opposition you have to him is principled, not petty.

I don’t always agree with you, but I can resume taking you seriously. :-)

FRegards

Month after month passes as candidates get into, and out of, the race. Sarah does nothing. She doesn’t jump in. Finally with deadlines approaching to get on the ballot, she says you know what, not running. People are shocked?

Some of us could have told you that months ago. If she cared
she would have jumped in a long time ago. Debated the likes
of Romney, Cain, Perry, etc. If she’s as talented as people think she would go strongly into the primaries. But:

a) Waiting so long pissed many of us off

b) Idolatry...yes we can respect and admire those who might someday become president but this was venturing into
Obama terrority: YES WE CAN, YOU BETCHA!

c) Impossible to predict what would happen in primaries.
She could have entered and done well, or been a bust,
but she never declared. For the guy declaring her “Madam
President” maybe someday, but it would help if she actually had declared before people assume she and Todd will move
into the White House on 1/20/13.

Maybe someday...

Sarah said that we need to be involved to effect change. Sort of an “we are the ones we’ve been waiting for” comment. But in our case this means that we take action - not wait for government to hand us someone else’s money.

I agree with Sarah, she couldn’t ever have done this alone - and even though she isn’t running for POTUS - she is leading us. We need to stay involved and vigorously defend our country and support our candidates.

Starting in May I supported Palin, Perry, Bachmann, and Cain. And I supported them in that order.

Palin has withdrawn from consideration, and Bachmann is on her last legs. That leaves Perry and Cain. Perry is my choice, and if Cain ends up the nominee, I’m fine with that. I have two enemies that I want destroyed, Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. Those two are my main focus.

Start working to make more gains in Congress. We're not going to get the president we want or need.

Forgive me, I'm just thinking out loud...

Gingrich, back in the day, was more than just a contender. He took it to them and won. And, along the way, he helped change the political landscape for the better.

He might not be the ideal candidate for President, but as VP?

Being practical, I recognize him as a former Speaker who knows how it's done and who has an insider's knowledge of where the bodies are buried.

The VP can be a powerful position and Gingrich knows how to wield power. Teamed up with the charisma and common sense appeal of President Herman Cain? Yeah, buddy...

Even though she is not running, she WILL!

This will work only if the convention is open due to no one gaining a majority. AND if she is drafted by the convention and accepts the draft. A lot of ifs there. Could be interesting. Hard to pin my hope on that scenario.

And hey, how bout those Lions!

It isn’t fair that the hopes of Americans like me rested on her shoulders. But they did. I’m afraid that we face a choice between two frauds next year. If there is a conservative candidate left standing come Pa. primary time, I’ll support him. What else can I do? But there will be little enthusiasm. Even a guy I like such as Cain is not as up to speed on all issues as a candidate should be.
I couldn’t even enjoy a show the other night b/c I was, and am, so upset over Palin’s decision. Bob

I hear you. I’m just not too worried about Cain’s running mate. I have no choice that he’ll choose someone that will help him out with his lack of DC experience.

His cabinet though could be a lot of fun...

Candy Cowley....oops I mean Crowley....

Agree about Bachmann, she’s never even won statewide office, and you have to go back to Lincoln for the last time a person from Congress was elected President without anything in between.

Mr. Cain has executive experience, and that’s what counts. Much as I admire Michele Bachmann, she’s not the one we’ve been waiting for.

Palin was. And if she and Todd were empty-nesters, I suspect we’d not be having this discussion ;-) Wait and see, but I’m betting she comes out Raising Cain!
