It's happened. The build-up and anxiety over whether folks like Chris Christie and Sarah Palin are going to throw their hats in the ring for the GOP presidential primary has reached critical mass.
And now, the will-they-or-won't-they game has flipped from fun and energizing to damaging to the party. Christie and Palin now do conservatives more harm than good.
With the question marks still lingering in the ether, and pundits on both sides of the aisle still performing their daily trapeze act -- swinging back and forth between "yes, he's running" and "no, she isn't" -- the focus on Christie and Palin has taken valuable resources and attention away from the rest of the field.
Because of those question marks, conservatives haven't been able to invest fully in the candidates who are running. They haven't been able to imagine one of them as president. They've held back support, money and endorsements, because they still don't know that the field is settled.....

WTH? I am so sick of the media telling potential candidates that their time is up.
Nope, they only have to declare within what states they are running in that state’s requirements to be in the primary.
Run Christie run! You will be the best counter-WEIGHT to Mittster, by dividing RINO votes.
Christie took on the teachers unions, he pulled his state out of a cap and trade program, and he is pro-life.
He ain’t Michele Bachmann...but he is closer to her than he is to Hussein.
I could live with Christie. That isn’t an endorsement, by the way. :)
Exactly.
Another anit-Palin hate movie came out today in theaters, “Srah Palin-You Betcha!”, pushed by the usual queer suspects.
She can wait another 12 days for the buzz to die down, THEN declare.
I always get a blank stare. I'll bet few freepers could answer either question.
With Primaries in January, they better figure it out and do it quick.
Bingo, this has not hurt conservatives or the GOP. Christie is not going to run and Sarah does not have to adhere to anyone’s line on running.
Despite the media’s urging/demanding the only deadlines are those of the individual state primaries. Sarah staying out has allowed the media to beat the hell out of Perry rather than her for a change. Not so dumb. Plus he has to improve his game now just to be lackluster.
Unfortunately, his dismal performance has boosted Romney.
CNN....nuff said.
STHU media....the candidates have until mid-October (I believe) to get in, so it’s NOT too late. Stop telling us what candidate will win, or who it should be. WE will decide.
Sorry, the 1944 nomination was fairly predictable.
Coincidence? I think not...
Being a gun-grabber and pro-WTC mosque aren’t disqualifiers for you?
These turds tll us that palin and Christie are doing us more harm that good.
fact is if they were these people would be wanting them to wait until hell froze over.
The liberals want Christie and Palin in now so the real attacks can start.
You'd really like what Erick Erickson is doing over at Redstate today then.
I have felt for a while there was something else in play here regarding the timing of Gov. Palin's decision. After witnessing the past few days with Gov. Christie ("I'm a definite no....until tomorrow"), I'm fairly certain there is a lot of behind the scenes positioning going on.
The establishment Republicans seem as concerned as the Democrats with a Palin candidacy, which tells me there could be a major change in "politics as usual" on the arisen.
That’s what has irritated me about the debates. The RINO got clubbed (mostly self-inflicted), but the uberRINO was barely touched and has actually come out standing pretty good. Not the outcome I was looking for.
