I was trying to cut her a little slack, but that sums it up pretty well. She then bailed when things got messy, a performance she repeated as Governor. (Bailing when things got messy instead of sticking around to fix a mess she had a role in creating)

Palin's(™) tenure as mayor of Wasilla was term-limited.

The real reason to look at her time in that position is because the palinistas trot it out as proof of her stellar executive abilities. The one big deal that would illustrate that was the ice-rink-to-nowhere. It was her project from day-one, and it was a fiasco.

Even though she had to read a script, things got pretty “messy” here and she didn’t even know it.
