After some fun I asked this of another friend who posted info on Bachmann’s “gaffes”:

Bachman’s ideology bugs me. Her extreme “Christian” values. My first impression of her was her HUGE lie aout Obama’s 2 Million dollar a day” trip to India- she lied right to the camera! She’s just a miserale angry bitch to me, and you could only say “Obama Sucks” soooo many times without offering anything of value in return before it gets stale.

Hopefully, this will help with understanding. Most of us can agree with Sarah Palin's more conservative speech, but she has also attracted another kind of constituent with some of her positions.

Palin brought extra, "early funding for [public] education" (Alaska State).

I see no need for it...if Palin does run then she can win the nomination against Romney and not by destroying Bachmann

I see no upside to helping the media kill Bachmann by spamming here and I can’t imagine that Palin or her potential campaign operatives would enlist such actions here

I guess I'm crashing a Bachmann pity party here. First, she brought much of this on herself because of Rollins and her failure to publicly deal with the turd. Second, she has shown an inability to be prepared for the inevitable questions that arise - her curt answer of never having received a dollar from her father-in-law's farm on the surface contradicts her own Congressional filings - she has to know such a question will arise, and needs to have a response that answers it fully. And third, too many of her supporters deal with these issues by spamming in how Palin has problems, too. Well, that in no way diminishes the issues Bachmann needs to overcome.

In other words, what comes around goes around, and at the end of the day Bachmann still has a lot to learn about running a national campaign, and blaming the critics does not change that fact.

Where did I say I would not support her if she can win the nomination. At this point, I don't see her having what it takes. That could change, but I don't see her learning from her mistakes to date, and likewise many of her supporters aren't, either.

It was my own personal belief. I prefer Palin but saw Bachmann as a logical 2nd choice if Palin didn't get in the race. Now Bachmann is giving me doubts as to her ability to run a national race. But I NEVER disparaged her on FR prior to the Rollins dustup, and I challenge anyone to show a post where I did.

Funny, I find it disgusting how a clique of Bachmann supporters (not including you) tries to drag Palin into threads about Bachmann mistakes, after their being long-time Palin bashers. So we're even.

I'll wait to see who all gets in. I won't support Romney, despise him and have made that clear over the years. However, I also don't see Bachmann as a Romney stalking horse as some have. I think the mistakes she has made have been all her own. I also think the foster kids are off limits, and said that before Steffi's comments. I am judging Bachmann on her statements, her actions (and lack thereof at times) and her history.

If Perry gets in, I don't see Palin getting in. Haven't decided who I would go for in the primary if that happens, as it would be good to see how Perry does out the gate, who knows, he could stumble as bad as some others have out the gate so far.

Fair enough but just as you in some cases rightfully claim to see Palin bashers from long ago defending Bachmann I see many here who brooked zero tolerance for any disagreement with some of Sarahs utterances finding fault with anything Bachmann says Rollins or not

I myself endured their volleys over the past two years when I disagreed with Sarah a few times even though unlike them my wife and I had gone to a lot of trouble to be in the same room with Palin to support her over 18 months ago

On Perry...I have little faith in him even though he is slightly better than Romney....he was a Democrat as late as 1989...almost 40...way too old for a conversion true enough for social conservative...

But we shall see....things rarely turn out here like I like..Palin, Michelle or maybe Cain or Santorum...both long shots

Whomever wins should take Rubio...could insure Floridas 27 electoral votes which are critical if you don’t get Ohio or Pennsylvania

Agree about having doubts regarding Perry - but to me he is a better option than Romney, Huntsman and Pawlenty. He’s definitely a different breed of Texan than the Bushes. Cain, I’m going to see him speak at the Philly Tea Party July 4th and am interested to see how he comes across. Santorum, I am from PA and see him as damaged goods - very good on social issues but his pitfall was getting too sucked into the Beltway mindset. Bachmann might still surprise, we’ll see. She has the conservative bona fides, let’s see if she can learn how to campaign for something broader than a congressional district.
